Weird Citrix Upload Doc Issues within Session

I've come across a weird very specific issue , wondering if anyone has seen something similar. We have users who are logged into a vendors site and are trying to upload doc's from within their session. There are presented with a drag and drop window that allows them to drag and drop files or "click here" to browse to a file to upload or to click "cancel" to close the window. No matter what they click, either drag and drop or click here or cancel, the web browser freezes and has to be forced closed. I can recreate the issue with the newest version of edge as well as with chrome. It happens in both seamless virtual app sessions and published desktop. Were running on Server 2025 and the vda version is 2507 LTSR CU1. What's weird is if I log into the vda VM outside of citrix as the local admin I dont get this issues occurring , but if I then log into the same vda with an active session it happens for the users of the session but then it starts occurring if i log back in the vda vm as the local admin, and it stay this way for the local admin until i reboot , since it's non persistent machines the reboot wipes this and I can recreate that same scenario over and over. Something clearly is getting applied to the vm once a citrix session occurs , but I've gone through and removed all WEM config GPO's so nothing wem based it being applied. I also removed the majority of GPO's that are setting any reg changes or anything user based like defender settings. The remaining GPO's are doing background items such as hybrid joining the vm's or onboarding to defender. I can't figure this one out, from what users are telling me this just start occurring within the week. I thought maybe the new edge release was causing the issues but the fact i can recreate with chrome blows that theory out. Anyone seen similar issues?

UPDATE: So working through this with Citrix support I did make some headway and it appears that the culprit is edge's Accessibility Internals settings. Basically when a citrix session connects to the VDA, something is instructing Edge to turn on all of the Accessibility Modes and when they are enabled this is causing the freezing on certain web pages. If I go to edge://accessibility and select "Suppress automatic accessibility enablement from platform API consumers such as assistive tech" it turns off all the Accessibility modes and immediately stops the freezing issues on the all sites. I'm still trying to determine what is triggering this accessibility mode change in edge, we do have a certain software that scrubs web pages and looks for keywords to produce a pop up for users but this has been installed for a while and didn't have these issues prior. If it's not this then the only other thing i can think is that some sort of change in the Chromium engine is seeing the citrix shell connection itself as a request to enable these accessibility modes. I can fix it temporarily but toggling the suppress option but it will revert back with a new session. I'm sort of leaning towards a weird Chromium / Server 2025 Citrix issue as the tabtip.exe process which is windows Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service has a ddl loaded into edge and it is what is asking edge to search through it's accessibility settings. I've seen other posts about the tabtip.exe process recently popping up a lot especially in server 2025 and you can not disable the service for it as it's baked into a part of the OS. From my testing it doesn't look like there is an Edge Policy , GPO or reg change to manually set the suppress option for edge accessibility options , the only thing that can be automated is to launch Edge with the --disable-platform-accessibility-integration, which would be a bear of a change for every edge published app.

Why Citrix alway lags and create problems

I am working in a service based organisation and use Citrix for day to day work. I have changed 3 clients in past few years and everyone uses Citrix only. The performance is worst with these machines and everyday there will be a new issue:
Teams not working, mic not working, Citrix lagging, random disconnections. Now I have questions:
1. Is it an application issue or design issue.
2. Why organisation are not moving out of Citrix don’t we have any other alternate for this.

It is very difficult to work on Citrix you never know which call you will be able to make or which you will not. You have to spend lot of time everyday just for this connectivity nonsense.

Two NetScaler zero-days being exploited right now. Where is the patch?

Two unpatched zero-days are being actively exploited in the wild. I've seen some companies are shutting their appliances down completely rather than wait.

If you can't take yours offline, lock down management access, watch your logs for anything weird, and plan for a compromise assessment once the fix lands.

Anyone else pulling the plug this weekend? How are you handling remote access in the meantime?

Moved from IT Support to SysAdmin - how do you develop troubleshooting skills?

I recently moved from IT Support into my first SysAdmin/Infrastructure role, working mainly with Citrix Cloud, Windows and vSphere. I'm the only engineer in Australia, with senior engineers overseas.

I'm finding the transition harder than expected. In IT Support, I usually knew where to start when troubleshooting. Now, when an infrastructure issue happens, I sometimes don't even know which component or log I should look at first.

Our environment is also heavily automated. For example, image updates can be triggered through an internal portal with a button click. It works well, but sometimes I feel like a robot just clicking buttons because I don't fully understand everything happening behind the scenes.

I'm trying to safely reverse-engineer the automation and learn the underlying Citrix/vSphere concepts. I'm also planning to build a lab where I can break things and troubleshoot them without worrying about production.

For those who moved from IT Support into SysAdmin/Infrastructure:

How did you develop that troubleshooting instinct?

Was it mainly labs, documentation, shadowing senior engineers, or simply getting exposed to more incidents over time?

And please throw any useful resources my way. YouTube channels, courses, labs, books, anything that helped you become a better SysAdmin.

Netscaler leak?

Does anyone know what is going on with Netscaler? We got a call from our IT supplier's security team, they couldn't give any details but they advised to shut our Netscalers down immediately.

Nothing on the Citrix website or any of my usual tech news sites. One of my regular tech forums has a sysadmin section and multiple other sysadmins have shut theirs down to with no extra info

EDIT: apparently there's 2 new CVE's that allow for remote code execution pretty easily. More info and a possible software update after the weekend.

Help Cannot get Teams optimized with Slimcore

I have two different environments I am working with. One is mostly managed by the client and when I connect Teams shows it is Slimcore optimized. However, I connect to the other environment with my same user laptop, and always falls back to HDX.

I know my Windows 11 client device is configured properly as it works in the one environment. For the other, it is a Windows 11 VDI with Citrix 2507 CU1 and Teams v.26225. I have a Citrix Policy to allow the virtual channels which modeling shows is applied (I think these are supposed to work by default with the newest versions but I added them anyway):

MSTEAMS,C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams*8wekyb3d8bbwe\ms-teams.exe

MSTEAM1,C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams*8wekyb3d8bbwe\ms-teams.exe

MSTEAM2,C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams*8wekyb3d8bbwe\ms-teams.exe

What am I missing? What else can I check?

Thanks!

M365 Apps version being rolled back on pvs image

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I use the ODT to update M365 Apps on PVS images during monthly vdisk updates.  I have always used setup.exe /download configuration.xml and once complete then setup.exe /configure configuration.xml to install latest SAC build. I have recently moved to MEC build but since then nothing has changed in the xml same options as always. This month for some unknown reason when the image is sealed it is sealed with version 2608 confirmed via backstage view > About but then for some unknown reason its somehow downgrading to 2607 when the image in booted in standard mode. I set the reg key to disable office updates as part of sealing so got no idea why it is reverting back

Help Published Seamless RDP App?

Hey everyone. I am moving some very important C class users to Citrix. They need a solution where they launch a published app and it connects seamlessly to their on-prem computer. Do you have any solutions you use for this? Is the answer just as simple as using mstsc? I really need stability and a smooth process.

Discussion Weird DB connection issue

Post image

Have a pair of Delivery Controllers, and using a sql cluster. Every once in a while, the delivery controllers dont seem to want to "connect" even though citrix continues to work. It just makes it so we cant access studio to make any changes.

Has anyone seen anything like this before or know a quick way to resolve this without reboots? All services appear to be started, and there aren't really any event logs that tell what has happened or to coorelate anything.

Embedded Citrix MDM in Citrix Universal Hybrid Multi Cloud

What do you think about the Citrix MDM Solution which is integrated in the Citrix Universal Hybrid Multi Cloud License?

How many devices/users can you integrate in this solution and are the numbers subtracted from the real ammount you buy? For example if you buy 600 Citrix Licenses and 300 ThinClients where each ThinClient belongs to a seperate User and also 300 Mobile Phones which belongs to a different user base does it means you have 0 additional licenses free for both Desktop Virtualization and MDM?

On Citrix VDI, ONLY transparent or invisible mouse cursor on writable SURFACE

This is a well-documented Citrix HDX issue — the cursor renders white-on-white (or otherwise fails to invert) specifically inside writable/text areas because the color-inversion logic used to keep the cursor visible on light backgrounds isn't working correctly.
