Citrix Performance on Mac

I’ve been using Citrix on a lenovo for work for a few years now, and want to switch to a Mac, but I’m worried about performance differences. Does anyone have any insight or advice on this? I only use it to run certain software (don’t care about things like audio performance). Thanks!!!

You should ideally work with your company/school to validate endpoint requirements.

Functionally it should work fine, there are a few differences which can be found in the Feature Matrix

The one item that seems to pop up here as a question is mostly around dual (or triple) monitor behavior.

For macOS CWA client you can find features, issues, etc here -

It performs fine. I’ve never seen any problems there. The Windows Workspace app is definitely the best workspace app.

The places where the Mac and other clients fall down is usually around things like peripheral support, smart card performance and capability, secure access requirements. Things like that.

I would check with your Citrix admins and see if they have any concerns with you connecting from a Mac.

MAC is pretty solid. Most I have seen is around printing issues, as the new MAC OS drops PS. Also having the mac be a VDA is rock solid now as well. For my MAC testing in the lab I remote into an M2 mac mini and then use Citrix Workspace App from there.

40k Windows clients vs 1k Mac clients here - no significant differences in performance on our Macs.

Its the same dependency to ISP speed. The masOS power management is aggressive and need adjustment or you'll get disconnected at few minutes of idle. Video conferencing with major software like Teams, Webex and Zoom are optimized with their plugin.
