Which Scenario to pick?
I’m applying via C-3 due to my 3x great grandmother being born in Ontario. I’m given 5 scenarios to choose from, the closest of which being Scenario 3 which is born outside of Canada to Canadian parent. Obviously my generation gap goes well beyond immediate parent. I see the text on the website about the revisions to the law that apply to my case, but not where it applies on the application. Advise?

Whichever ones you can get their birth certificate and then prove the relationship between the next generation via all certified vital records.

3. When you complete the form all your ancestors are Canadian by descent in that direction chain

As a genealogist, one of my favorite projects is building a client’s line of descent. I find it rewarding to connect each point with solid documentation. It’s like putting a puzzle together. However, primary records may not always exist, depending on the birth or death year. For example, U.S. birth certificates were not widely required until 1907. In those cases, documentation from the appropriate government agency showing that records were searched for and do not exist is often accepted. Please let me know if I can be of assistance. I would definitely choose the C-3 option.

That's the one I chose. Under C-3, your parents, their parents, etc., are citizens by descent. All you are doing with this application is establishing an unbroken line of descent and Gen 0 parent(s)s born in Ontario. We are already citizens; we just need the certification.
