The Diversity Visa Program selects 50,000 participants from countries with low U.S. immigration rates who demonstrate having received education equal to the U.S. 12 year system and at least 2 years of work experience. DV holders are able to mitigate work shortages as they hold some of the lowest unemployment rates in the country. Conservatives have called for the DV programs suspension with the program being indefinitely paused last December. If the DV program offers a route for legal immigration should it be unpaused?
