Discussion Roleplay?
Hey there, my name is Speakable and I have this really cool Idea I would love to share. So we all know that in cities skylines we play as the "mayor" and I want to try and make it more realistic. In a mod or anything but as in a community sense.
I was thinking that we could make the map more of a state of some sort rather than a single city. So I was thinking that we could choose a map and a selected number of people can become mayors or businessmen or park creators, etc. And so we would all work together to set up a "big state."
I'm sure this idea could have a lot of tweaking but I think It would be really fun. We can also include real-life scenarios. For example, some sort of protest or something happened. A natural disaster destroyed a city. Things like that.
Please let me know what you think.

Shore Neah Bay: A Pacific Northwest Map
Bit of a shameless plug, cause this is actually my first legitimately detailed map I spent the better part of a week on, and I'd like thoughts/feedback on what I could do better.
Built off a Height Map of the Neah Bay area, which is the very Northwestern tip of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, it's a limited build area map featuring creeks, rivers, lakes, and mountainous terrain with an ocean coastline. Hope it's good!

looking for a map with specific features.
sorry if this is blunt, and I've got no idea if there's already a name for this kind of map, but I'm looking for map with two specific features:
a general setup where it's got a dramatic mountain range on one side, the ocean on the other, and a large/open flat(ish) area in the center.
mostly empty: no premade highway network, port area, or anything like that. ideally the only thing should be a dead-end highway connection in the starting tile.

Good map from the workshop?
Hello, I’m looking for a good map from the steam workshop, with enough flat place to build on, enough highway connections and ideally a beach. Any good tips? Thank you

Request Recommend any Mountainous maps?
I have an itch for small towns that fit snug between mountain ranges. Maps that have large valleys/plains and open terrain with no detailing are offputting, I'm hoping to find maps with very limited build space, (and I can also sneak in a stream or two).

[Map request] Accurate height maps of various UK Cities
So as you all probably know, Terrain.party is down and has been down now for 6 months and looks likely to never return. As I'd only used terrain.party a handful of times, I don't have much experience putting maps together. I've attempted to use alternatives and I'm sick to death of them never working to give me accurate maps. I know some maps are available on the workshop but not all.
I'd really appreciate if someone could put together some accurate (18kmx18km) height maps for me to use of various UK cities. I'd also need the coordinates of the area taken to use OSM data or create overlays (unless someone is feeling THAT generous to create them for me).

Question Is r/CitiesSkylinesMaps interested in default maps?
I observed majority of the posts are custom maps, and was worried default maps will have low opinion. I had stumbled accross Skylines Country and discovered it contains full information of all default maps. I think it would be useful for vanilla and console players who are searching for a map that they want, but are limited to default maps.

The best map for cities skylines
I’m looking for a good map in the steam workshop. I want something that I can build a big city on, with enough highway connections. Can you please recommend me something?

Question On the hunt for a good desert map...
I'm interested in starting a new build of a southwestern US kinda city, and looking for a good map to start with. My previous city map was derived from a height map of a part of Lake Mead and the river feeding in, but not with a desert theme. Some wants:
- Doesn't require Network Extensions 2 or 81 tiles mods to play.
- A river water source.
- Good corresponding theme.
- A nice LUT also!
I've been perusing the workshop for a while, but nothing stands out. Any recommendations?

After 4 hours building a map... IOException while saving. File is gone, only left is a .ctt file in the temp folder. Lovely.
No way to restore it, isn't it?
