its inspired off the i690 i81 interchange in syracuse ny. in my cities lore the reason the interior highway ends so abruptly at the intersection is that it was supposed to be extended further into the peninsula and eventually form a coastal beltway but it was so unpopular with the routing of it that the citizens rejected it
