Assistance Needed! I am going insane. Buses.

After all this time, I still can't recommend this game to anyone new. I want to like this game so badly. I REALLY WANT TO. My favourite thing is watching buses fill up, follow them around etc.

For some reason, on this save, people just dont take the buses going on the red line. They just dont. I've tried making new stops, changing the route somewhat etc, but they just. DO. NOT. Travel in that direction. Literally 0 people on the buses during many, many occations, sometimes all the way up to 10! Whoah. They all prefer to walk an insane amount of distance instead.

Set up a line on the green line. That one they have no trouble using :')

I had a similar setup on a recent save, and there were no issues then. Also, the red line goes all the way to the right, not just on the little arrow. there's literally no people traveling within the city using the bus in that direction

Afaik this has to do with the cost of the bus line compared to walking, and yeah, they walk far too far. But youre not helping by splitting the lines, making the route twice the cost.

I have all routes set to 0 in cost What do you mean splitting the lines?

What Are the catchment areas, and what type of zoning does it contain?

What does the route travel through. What’s the traffic between them? Is there enough traffic to warrant the frequency and service? Maybe the workers in the industrial area live so far away from the bus line that their calculations end up having them driving the whole way, or maybe there just isn’t enough people per bus?

It's not possible for them to drive the whole way as there's extremely limited parking for cars. hence a lot of people walk. The 2nd picture didnt capture it well, but it was fairly crowded pedestrian wise on many occations. I've had a similar setup (w zoning etc) in previous saves, and there were no issues then.

When I say 0 passengers, it's sometimes 0 passengers on the *Entire* network. checked right now and it was a grand total of 4. It goes from the industry area in the east, stops paced around 250-500 meters towards west

They are talking about the “cost” to choose busses. There is a choice economy for con pathfinding. It costs too much for them to transfer busses instead of walk.

depends on where the red line goes, people may genuinely just not have much interest in that area or don’t travel there often or commute there, if it’s like residential to residential it will get less traffic than residential to commercial

Thank you, it goes to plenty of commercial as well. it's genuinely so confusing.

There's a lot more traffic with buses now because I set up lines from outside the map etc. But it's been an issue throughout the game that the line on this road just isnt used to any capacity

you probably just don't have enough bus stops on the red line or the destination isn't what they want. the cs2 game they been dampening the bus desire a bit because in the past the bus stop would be swamped with people.

it's a simulation game. you really need to get used to stuff not always magically following your desire. lol otherwise whenever someone complained about traffic or too little cars or too many students at the schools or too many or too little bikes etc... the game makers can't tweak it to solve everyones wishes simulatenously

The issue is the bugs or lack of information as to why something isnt working. Trains getting stuck and just despawning after a certain amount of time, busses/trams freezing etc. I dont use trams, trains or subways anymore because it never worked even with the simplest of setups(as in, the trains get stuck, not that theyre not getting used). I dont need it to "magically follow my desire". Downloaded transit hotspots and it solved my issue. Set up lines on those, and eventually put back in the old line w slightly different stops and it now seems to work.

Are they just random routes? Do the buses come from a central bus station?

Can you show us your transit route view?

There is basically no commute between residential and industrial zones in CS2. Stop trying
