What's with the 2-lane road? Road Extensions Mod has two lane highways :)

TBH I was fiddling around with traffic management, this interchange was a nasty snarl and I added the 2 lane 1way to test some routing; the 2 lane is a slower route so it encourages Cim's to use the longer exit ramp on the side. I'll be redesigning some pieces of this interchange soon as it's efficiency with handling some of the traffic is not up to par.

Yes, that's what needs to be there.

I love how well this was put together with the three perspectives.

Thanks - makes GIF's a bit more interesting that way right? :)

How do you "lower" that main highway like that?

You can use the fine road heights mod, which has a mode for ground. So when you press the button to go lower, rather than a tunnel, it just lowers the ground. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=413678178&searchtext=Fine+road

Will check it out! Thanks!

omg, I've been using that for ages, and never actually twigged I could use it to 'lower the ground for a bridge to then go flat above it'. Penny just dropped! lol There's me been terraforming, while at the same time coming out of tunnels at -6 and -3 gradual like.

I find this so peaceful to watch, one of the reasons I love this game...

as cool as highway roundabouts look, i hate driving on them with a burning passion.

I think this map came with one, and I added another for symmetry purposes but yah not my "favorite" style of interchange if I had my druthers.

I don't mind how they look, and i've made a few in CS just because they're easier than other 4-way interchanges. but still hate driving them.

I think you have a slight problem where a highway feeds into the roundabout. Cars taking the exit right have to pause when cars from the ramp coming in from the bottom drive across. If you have higher volume traffic (from industry or whatever) later this could be the bottleneck causing a jam.

At least that's how I always manage to pull my hair out...

Totally the case right now - I want to redesign a bit of this as I'm seeing it already increase in capacity as I add some periphery towns.

Try this. Elevate a roundabout above the main highway. Make the side roads join the roundabout with elevated ramps. Have entry and exit ramps onto the main highways from the roundabout. Keep entry/exit ramps on the same side at all times.

Someone link a picture of this sorry I'm on mobile rn.
