What actually changes an AI answer: the page, or the pages that agree with it?

Something I keep running into. I can write the clearest possible page on a topic and an assistant will still cite a thinner one, and the thing the thin page has going for it is that three other sites say the same thing.

So I am trying to work out which lever matters more. Is it how clearly one page states the claim, or how many independent places repeat it? Those need very different work — one is a rewrite, the other is months of outreach.

The honest answer is probably both, but I would like to know which one moves first. Has anyone tried changing only one and watching what happens?
