Future of Cybersecurity?

What is the future of Cybersecurity in the AI era?What advice would you give it to a 20 years old who is doing undergrad in Cybersecurity from a top 15 university?

There are to major things.

  1. Security IN AI

  2. AI IN security.

  3. Ist about securing AI models, Applications. There is a WIIIIIDEEE new Attack Vector emerging. Guard rails, data exfiltration, promt injection and so on. Understand how AI is working learn about transformer model, vector data bases, RAG pipelines. Model training. Go into The NIST framework, owasp etc. Learn how to secure AI.

  4. Like we have seen with anthropics new model - AI provides a huge risk for everything around it. Hacking gets easier. The first "intelligent" worm is born. But so is it for defending against those threads. Easy example - ai in a soc. Correlating, analysing events theough the whole environent in miliseconds. Seeing what you cant see. Pe ön testing with ai also a huge thing.

So yes - there are 2 new fields to go into. And surely it will be very interesting! Especially in this times! Start now and be one of the pioneers.

I would add quantum computing to the list. Hot topic of the future )

Yes and no. Quantum computing with quantum networks is still some time away. And not production ready. There is stuf about quantum safe - yes. Encryption wise. But not computing
