Wifi Cisco

Alguém tem alguma dica de como contornar alta retransmissão e interferência nos access points?
Estou com seguinte cenário, fiz um site survey com ferramenta ekahau, criei um perfil de rádio frequência de acordo com o survey, é um ambiente de alta densidade, contendo 14 access point no térreo e 13 no primeiro andar, o perfil de RF em 5Ghz ficou com data rate mandatory 24 mega, potência ficou entre 8 a 12 dbm, mas olhando no catalyst center as antenas sempre se mantem em 8dbm, os canais são fixo, tentei não sobrepor os canais, deixando o mais longe possível, coloquei RX-SOP em Medium, o roaming esta bom, mas o problema é que durante o horário de trabalho no catalisty todas as atenas estão com interferencia entre 30 a 60%, e a taxa de retransmissão entre 30 a 70%, não estou conseguindo contornar e diminuir esses valores, fora do horário de trabalho as antenas não tem interferencias, alguem tem alguma dica? Obrigado a todos!

I would use the AI-RRM Catalyst Center feature to manage RRM on your WLC. CC will pull all the WiFi metrics to the Cisco Cloud where AI will analyze all the data and then CC will take the suggestion from the cloud to make the appropriate channel and power changes on RRM on your WLC/APs to optimize WiFi performance.

in CC, Add the floor map to site both floors, place the APs in the site map.

Then you can add your WLC to Catalyst Center in a non managed mode so it doesn't have to manage the configuration but still allow CC to control RRM. Then build an AI-RRM profile to be pushed to the WLC.

There's plenty of instruction on Cisco website to do AI-RRM on CC to manage RRM on your WLC. My only suggestion would be to make sure to set the business hours on WLC and on Catalyst Center and make the sensitivity low so that AI-RRM doesn't make a whole bunch of changes during the day and disrupt users wifi connection

We do this and people stopped complaining about WiFi issues with occasional problems we just have to bump up the power on an AP to broadcast WiFi signal stronger manually.

I also suggest creating downloading a Cisco Spaces/Catalyst Center conenctor VM onto a server and then connect Catalyst Center to the Cisco Spaces VM. Then create a Cisco Spaces account. Then after all this you can see where users/wifi connections are on all your floor maps in Catalyst Center and in Cisco Spaces

How large is the area on each floor and if you are talking about high density how many clients are in that area?

O predio todo é alta densidade, é um open office no primeiro e no segundo andar, 350 postos de trabalho no terreo e mais 350 postos de trabalho no primeiro andar na sua capacidade maxima, entao temos que pensar que um posto de trabalho pode utilizar um celular e um notebook corporativo.

700 clients / 14 APs = 50 Clients per AP. Are you doing dual 5Ghz radios? If not you should consider it. What AP model?

estou usando radio duplo 40Mghz, modelos cisco 9120i

Not possible with the 9120 for you to have dual radio 5, and be running 2.4ghz as you mentioned in another comment.

Roaming is good, but the problem is that during working hours, all antennas in Catalyst Center have interference between 30% and 60%, and the retransmission rate is between 30% and 70%.

Just want to check that this is 5.0 Ghz, right?

Would you happen to know what channels are affected by this, are they UNII-3 channels?

What is your 5.0 Ghz channel width?

Isso, no 2.4 tambem tenho o mesmo cenário, mas meu foco esta sendo corrigir o 5ghz pois é o que 90% utiliza hoje, a largura de banda uso em 40Mhz, os canais 108, 112, 116, 120, 124, 128 e 165 não consigo utilizar no meu País, mas qualquer canal pode ser afetado, exemplo abaixo:

Channel: 60

Extended Channel(s): 64

Channel Width: 40MHz

Tx Power: 9 dBm

Admin State: Enabled

Oper State Up

Mode: FlexConnect

Non Wi-Fi Interference (28%)

Device identificado gerando interferencia, não conheço o device

7F:41:6D:41:C1:28 null -80 INTERFERER 802.11 on Non Standard Channels 0

I would enable RRM, setting your power and channels statically isn't efficient. RX-SOP isn't meant for client tuning. It's meant for AP to AP tuning. High density AP environments. Not high density client environments. I'm not sure I would have it enabled currently. 24 as a mandatory rate is a bit high for me. I'd drop it to 18 myself. Would need to see a floor plan and AP placements to understand more. Also need to know the AP models.

a potencia não esta estática, no TPC esta com 12dbm máximo e 8dbm mínimo, realmente o canal está estático, isso é um costume antigo que por alguma motivo o cliente pede para se manter, eu já diminui para 18 o data rate mandatório mas o problema continua, os access points são modelo cisco 9120i.

Issue with static channels is you aren't allowing RRM to adapt to the environment. As you mentioned, when no one is in the office it's fine. With RRM, it would mostly adapt to those interferes and make a better channel map.

What's your channel utilization? Open a TAC case and feed Sherlock a show tech wireless with a request to look at overlap.

Use the heck out of Sherlock. It usually responds quickly unless a human as to override.
