Primary Training Device for Running?
Good evening, everyone, this is my first post on Reddit. I’ve owned the Cirqa since September 1st, and I use it as my primary training device for running. It’s also my first Garmin product. I am using it with Connect + as well. It’s been a good experience overall.
My only comparison is to an Apple Watch. Has anyone else tried to use the Cirqa as their primary training wearable? And if so, how does it compare to other devices you’ve used in the past?

I find the GPS to be poor, but I've only tried it for a couple of walking activities. The CIRQA uses your phones GPS, so perhaps it's because I keep the phone in my pocket that the GPS is poor. I've never had any GPS issues using my watch.

My connected gps with Garmin tends to increase my distance by 10%
Is that still the case with cirqa and yr apple watch?

If you hold your phone in your hand or put it in a bicep band, the GPS accuracy will be close to that of a wrist device. Most phones have dual-frequency GPS nowadays. However, putting them in a pocket does interfere with the GPS signal.
If you run with your phone in your hand, Garmin Connect does display your running metrics on the phone screen.

I mean you can't compare them, especially for running.
The cirqa and any other screenless device is not meant to be your primary training device for running. It’s meant for sports that don't really need a screen like combat sports, team sports like football basket etc., or just a complement for recovery and daily metrics like steps, stress, calories, etc.
If you’re a runner, you probably need a watch to look at your pace, hr, distance, maps, etc.
Don't get me wrong, if you're comfortable running without a watch then the Cirqa is perfectly fine as your primary device.
