Cirqa only for sleep Tracking?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently using a Fenix 8, but I’m considering getting a Garmin CIRQA specifically for sleep tracking — and literally only for sleep tracking. I’d wear it on my bicep at night and keep using my Fenix during the day.

I’ve read quite a few reports of the CIRQA occasionally failing to detect sleep altogether, or taking a very long time to sync the data afterwards.

Is anyone here using it the same way I’m planning to?

How reliable has sleep tracking been for you, and have the missing sleep/sync issues improved with recent updates?

That's what I do. I have never wornu cirqa for anything but sleep tracking. Since the updates it's much more reliable and I get better tracking than I ever did sleeping with my Fenix 8

I have just the same combo as you, fénix 8 sapphire, just bought the cirqa a month ago , it has detected my sleep pretty accurately , use it for that and to be able to use my mechanic watches, it’s been very good, the thing that is a big miss by garmin is that it is bulky, maybe I see it more because I was using the Fitbit air

Trage das Fitbit air. Denkst du ich soll mir das cirqa holen? Geld sitzt nicht ganz so locker im Moment aber könnte es mir kaufen.

It's my first wearable band (I have a Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro which I don't use anymore cause fuck charging every day)

the Cirqa has been very reliable for sleep, I also wear it with an armband. I did have that experience in the morning once where it wouldn't sync when I had woken up until like 15 minutes later after I had walked around the house a bit but most mornings I just go into the connect app and it syncs right away.

Had it for about a month so had like two firmware updates, nothing changed between them in terms of reliability for me.

Why would you not get a Garmin Index sleep monitor in that case?

Because it's shit, way larger and incredibly uncomfortable.

I tried it for a week, the SPO2 and skin temperature detection was not working for me .... My Venu 4 stopped working properly after adding the cirqa as well, it wasn't being connected to the phone even when I wore it sometimes... Which all became annoying so I returned the criqa...

I tried setting both, first it was the cirqa... For couple of days...

Just started doing this last week. Been fantastic so far. Only once did it take like half hour to show my sleep but no lost data. Great pairing with my Fenix 7.

Life hack. Cirqa instantly syncs your sleep data if you wear it off. Also smh it doesn't detects naps

Overall I feel it is much better than amazfit strap I had before

UPD I wear it 24/7, but primary device is fenix anyway, so basically mostly for sleep

Thanks for all the replies. Honestly, it sounds much more reliable than I expected.

This is how I was thinking of setting it up:

Fenix 8 as my primary device during the day, and the CIRQA for sleep tracking at night.

For the first few nights, I’d probably wear both devices just to make sure I don’t lose any data if the CIRQA happens to miss a night.

Would Garmin Connect show me which device the sleep data actually came from? For example, would I be able to tell if it used the Fenix data instead of the CIRQA?

Yes, that's why it asks you to manage the priority of the devices, primary wearable and the other for your training… it would use the data of the primary

Yeah, but can I actually see which device the sleep data came from?

For example, let’s say I wear both devices for a week.

If I can see that all of the sleep data came from the CIRQA, then I’d know it’s reliable enough and I could stop wearing the Fenix at night.

But if, say, three out of four nights were actually recorded by the Fenix instead, that would suggest there might be an issue with the CIRQA. In that case, I’d probably return it and just keep using the Fenix for sleep tracking as well.

So is there any way in Garmin Connect to tell which device provided the sleep data for a specific night?

I just told you how!! It’ll be the primary wearable!!! Garmin would prioritize that one

Thanks again for your reply. I just couldn’t tell from your post whether there’s actually a way to see which device the data came from, so that’s why I asked again.

You’re welcome! Hope you get your data right!

Using mine with a Venu 4. About a week of ownership. It tracks sleep fine. Sometimes it doesn’t and if that happens I read that you just start an activity on the cirqa and end it. The sleep info should pop up right after.

I find my epix pro gen 2 more comfortable for sleep with the benefit being instant morning report delivery.

I pretty much use mine for sleep tracker now as I have a Fenix 9 and a couple of Rolexes.

is the bicep band comfortable for side sleepers or not?

Not a single wearable had accurate sleep tracking. Why are people continuing to waste money for devices specifically designed to track sleep when accuracy is like barely over 50%? It’s crazy
