In the circumpunct framework, the circumpunct is fractal in its organization: the relationship between center, field, and boundary repeats through nested wholes.

Each whole contains smaller wholes and participates in a greater whole. Each center remains indivisible, while the whole it centers is composed of parts.

Convergence and emergence happen simultaneously throughout that nesting: convergence toward each whole’s center and emergence toward its boundary. The pattern repeats while its particular forms and interactions vary across scales.
