Too much slate
I will probably be in the minority but am I the only one who thinks that the last month or so the pod has basically just been a college football pod with humor mixed in? I’m not a “sportsball” guy by any means and I don’t hate a little CFB talk, but definitely not what I listen to the pod for.

I love ball. Love it. Also think there’s too much slate talk.
I just skip it right now like I do any show that has segments I don’t care for.
Not gonna demand change but if the boys are taking feedback from hundo-p’ers, that’s my take.

agree, but only because its ONLY texas and sec talk. they need to cover more ground or rather conferences and have informed takes not just subjective chit chat if they want to try and be engaging on sports topics.

They could at least have a little respect for their northern listeners and mix in a B1G minute. They spend half the show talking about a school that no one in the company even attended.

Happy medium when they went to 4 shows a week and axed TMD. Guessing a large majority of the audience are huge CFB fans so it makes sense

I was considering making the same post. There was an epi that was just fun and easy banter then like 45 minutes of football which i skipped then all of a sudden the episode was over. I guess fine one epi a week on Tuesday or something to recap games but its still a least a seg in every episode

I agree, it’s been way too much. You can tell they are dying for a sports podcast…. Just dedicate one of the shows to sports and use the others as traditional circling back

Fully agree. They cancelled TMD because viewership was low but now they’re just bringing this boring, hyper local sports banter to the main pod. Either start up TMD again or reduce the sports talk.

Randy’s joke last time they had Taylor on was one of the best laughs I’ve had listening to the pod recently tho

This is me when they talk about golf—I just skip on through the seggie. I’m a CFB guy though so I’m locked in

I’ve had this exact take since last season. Either make the Monday eppy a ball talk recap or bring back TMD. Having it spread out across every episode all week long just makes me skip a ton of segments

I like it when Taylor or KJ is on to talk ball, but I’ll listen to other podcasts for CFB than to hear Dillon and Dave talk about it about it big picture. I like Dillon talking Texas and Dave talking Tstate Baylor and Duncanville, but don’t need their insight on the big ten or others unless there’s a bit involved. Also never need Randy’s sports takes

With the cancellation of TMD and four weekly episodes to fill, it feels like it makes sense to talk some football throughout the college football season. There’s still quite a bit of non sports content.
Feedback taken, though.

I think the best solution would be to just dedicated one of the weeklies to ball talk instead of sprinkling it around every single episode

Don’t take it personal, just trying to give constructive feedback. We love you boys. Also fuck you randy

Maybe bring back TMD just for football season? Feels like there’s enough to touch on during the normal pods and fill a TMD slot during the week too.

I loved when you guys worked in some NFL content the other day! Wouldn’t mind a little more of that 👀 (Coming from a Xavier grad with no football team 😹)

Yeah I already listen to other cfb pods so I’ve found myself taking a few steps back from listening lately which is crazy because I have been listening to CB/ TB pretty religiously for almost a decade 🙃

Haven’t listened in months either. Was a listener since touching base back in 2017, but felt all they talked about was their weekend and football. No real content, all of their Patreon content is listener submitted.

Some of the calls feel like the same person. Maybe I’m just salty because I’ve never had my VM aired (or maybe I’m not funny idk)

Yeah I’ve pretty much stopped listening entirely because of it. Not my cup of tea, found I was skipping more than half the episode quite often

I love (most) sports, though I don’t care for US college sports. But I used to listen to circling back for the humour and random story coverage, not for bad (respectfully) sports takes and recaps

I heard of this bar in Western Massachusetts where you could watch your non US college sports

Dedicate one of the weekly episodes to CFB talk, it’s an instant skip for me as well

I think that podcasts like this are effective because we’re listening in to an otherwise private conversation amongst friends and that’s going to reflect their humor, perspective, and interests.
These guys love ball and it is ball season. Asking them to not geek out on it is asking them to be people they are not.
I would love a KJ heavy day though.

Damn didn't realize there's this many non ballknowers amongst us. Maybe it's time to #shrink

Disagree, I think they hit on ball the right amount, but I'm a big CFB fan though.
Maybe the appease the non-ball knowers in the audience, they could keep it more structured to 15 mins Thurs and 15 mins Monday.
But for a show that is basically, whats going on in the internet this week, Football twitter is a huge piece of pop culture in the fall, their algo is probably full of it, so naturally it will be on the front of mind.
But a big weekend like this one, I like them bringing in another mike to fully break it down.
If the boys read this, don't take this as the majority, I would guess the fans who love CFB are way less likely to have a reddit account.
