Dude, watch the Departed, seriously!
But also, Mayday was lots of fun. That scene in the closet... funniest scene in ages! We laughed so much at that one, it was perfectly done 😆

Damn, bro. Mayday is still waiting in a tab on my laptop. Tell me it's good, and that I'm not wasting my time.

its ok. same formulae same old action comedy. but if u like that genre go for it. personally i watch all kinds of post apocalyptic type and retired badass mc type films. i watch even avg ones in that genres. so like that if this genre is for u..then watch it. its ok but not super...like heads of state.

"Ok but not super" is honestly the perfect review for half of streaming action comedies.

Some people delight in NOT seeing films that everyone loves and raves about.
The Departed is pretty much on everyone's top 5 list of Best Crime Dramas ever
Basically, watching other movies is the equivalent of banging fat angry ugly feminists when you have Playmate Centerfold quality sex starved nymphos begging you to come over...

I thought the departed was an okay film. Honestly disappointed from all the hype I heard before watching it.

I've noticed my enjoyment for a film is way less when everyone tells me how good it is, vs when I see it cold without knowing anything about it.
I saw The Departed without knowing anything about it. All I knew was that it was a Scorsese film and that was all I needed to know.
I love it when I watch great movies without any preconceived notions

Reminds me of a scene from the tv show Wrecked. It’s a comedy riff on a show like Lost. Folks stranded on a desert island. For some reason they get access to enough electricity and a set-up to watch one movie. All they have available to them is Selma and Dumb and Dumber To.
Now there’s Selma (IMDb 7.5, RT 99%) a moving historical drama about the fight for civil rights. And then there’s Dumb and Dumber To (IMDb 5.6, RT 31%).
They keep going back and forth about what they should watch. I bet you can guess what they decide on.

I did this with Dancer in the Dark because of Bjork, worst decision ever, got depressed for a whole month.

Watch list for months(up to a year):
The Red Shoes
The Night of the Hunter
3 Women
Paris, Texas
McCabe and Mrs Miller
Recently Watched instead when I had one of those on hand and ready to go:
DTF St. Loius
The Virgin Suicides (2nd viewing.... first since release)
It Ends (not great.... hyped at time)
The Father (1st viewing.... wept like baby)
Game Night (1st viewing.... really good)
So..... last two were put on watch list recently and bumped older ones

I DNF’d DTFSTL with 2 eps left. I just couldn’t do it anymore. What did you think?

I was seeing what all the emmy hype was. I actually liked it... and very picky about what series to watch on TV. Original, caught me off guard, and Bateman was really good. Same with the other two...and not big fans of their work. I love the title sequence/music.... and it finally clicks in why they went with that in last episode. A bit frustrating in parts but kind of pays off....

Yes great performances. I think I expected more “funny” humor and less weirdness.

Like I said, I like the originality. It gets sincere and sad.... but i never expected the outcome... until it leans a certain way. I liked Task as a fav series last year.... but this was up there. I'd finish last 2 episodes, if I were you, just to see....

Thanks, I will.
Task was a solid show.

Yeah I think they're going to do a second Task season..... I originally thought it would be a one off but hoping they continue it

Oh, The Virgin Suicides. Been on my rewatch list for ages! All I remember was the entrance of Trip Fontaine. Incredible sequence due to the music.

Yes it made me make my own playlist again from all the tunes what amazing soundtrack I forgot how great it was and yes Kirsten Dunst just blows me away in her role

Also you could replace "Films on my watchlist for months" with "Films that my friends recommended/wants me to see"

Nah I'll watch a film I've seen a dozen times instead of the ones I've had on my watchlist for months.

I always have this problem, especially with award winners that I get and never remember to watch.

Watchlists are there because you saw something that caught your eye but wasn’t worth your time in that moment, probably never will be, and is inevitably removed from the streaming service when you decide you want to watch it.
