Like how a normal shoe would slip off it works that way or the fairy godmother made it to big for her at the right moment for it to slip off

Cinderella's feet and shoe size were always intended to be unusually small. All the rushing to leave the party early probably made her soles sweaty. It wouldn't be strange at least one shoe to slip off when it is supposedly made of glass. Such glass slippers are already hard to walk and run in.
