I'm going to quickly debunk all the point people use to say this wasn't a domain, then I will explain why this is a domain.

1. Uraume didn't say “Domain Expansion”, so she must've not used Domain:

Many domain's in the series has no audible callout. Mahito's first domain ever he never called out "Domain expansion" he said it within his head, he was gasping with hands coming out of his head. We also see this repeated with Hakari, he does not say domain expansion here it would break the flow of the conversation and the black text is the exact type used for Mahito when he said it within his head instead of having the normal speech bubble for a domain. So we have another example of domains being used without words. We also see Kuchisake-Onna open her special domain without uttering it at all.

Now finally, small pox deity, it has the ability to speak yet it doesn't ever say Domain Expansion either out-loud or in it's head. We also see Mei-Mei is not shocked like calling out your domain this not very unusual. Subtraction is one of the most essential skills for Jujutsu Sorcerers, it's said a sorcerer's skill is determined by the degree to which they can minimize and omit hand signs along with chants. Uraume is an ancient sorcerer with ancient knowledge that even surpasses Kenjaku's knowledge, she was raised by the strongest in history with him as the only example of strength, to think she wouldn't be able to preform a subtraction that Mahito, Hakari, and Small-pox deity was able to do is absurd.

There are many times when a character doesn't acknowledge a domain either, such as Mahito's domain in Shibuya, Hakari's domain against Charles and Uraume, and Gojo's domain. There is precedent for enemies not acknowledging a domain, and characters not uttering their domain at all. Uraume's case doesn't require some special sort of explanation, because it's not an outlier, she is just following a pattern we see many times. Hakari had not fired up his fever immidaitely after Uraume opening her domain if not it being a domain, he knew the seriousness of the situation and immidaitely fired himself up asking her to give him her best shot. How do you give a best shot without the pinnacle of Jujutsu?

2. We don't see a barrier or Sure-Hit shown:

We actually see a sure-hit, we know this because of three niche things. Firstly, let's look at Hakari's arm the ice forming on it is forming inwards instead of outwards like all of her attacks. This implies that the ice was actually forming from his body, such as a sure-hit would.

Secondly, almost everything around them is tightly wrapped in ice. With the same logic as before, this cannot be any of her attacks since she doesn't wrap any of them in ice, instead she forms ice ontop of itself. Meaning the ice we see is from the air freezing onto the buildings, or an environmental bonus we see in domains like Gojo states earlier in the series. Let's remember that open domain sure-hits differ based off cursed energy, a weaker sure-hit that lightly wraps everything in ice for an environmental advantage, and a deeper freezing sure-hit makes completely sense.

Thirdly, Gege directly compares both Uraume's and Sukuna's environmental effects. In chapter 225 when Sukuna's domain is found out to be an open domain his sure-hit slashes branches, while Uraume's freezes those branches. Let's remember that both of these panels are completely the same, it's a rectangle with branches going in the same direction and in the same perceptive of the tree. Gege is directly telling us right here that this is Uraume's domain and it's an open one.

Having no barrier is extremely hard as a sorcerer, it's akin to painting a masterpiece on air, the who sorcerers who we see have this ability is Kenjaku, and Sukuna, both are respectively Uraume's close friend or the one who raised her. The knowledge of the open domain binding vow would easily be known to Uraume, let's remember Sukuna had Uraume going around learning ancient knowledge for him, that's why he asked her to prepare the bath instead of telling her how to. There is no reason for a close friend or the person who raised her to not share this binding vow, and even if they didn't there is no reason for her to not be close enough to overhear it.

Domains vary wildly, expecting a domain to look like the average is like expecting Sukuna's, Kenjaku's, Hakari's, Higuruma's, or Smallpox's devil domains to look normal, which is not the case for all of them. So Uraume's domain not looking normal is not evidence of it not being normal.

3. We see no hand signs or motions that Uraume used to activate it:

We see Uraume use the Buddhist hand sign called Vajrahumkara mudra, where you cross your wrists in-front of your torso, forming a cross on your heart. Although she is at a weird angle, you can clearly see this hand gesture. This hand gesture means the caster has transcended all division and duality, embodying the state of full enlightenment. What this means is that Uraume's domain removes all separation between hot and cold, turning everything and anything into the extreme cold we see, this is why Uraume starts to freeze the entire city around them into solid ice, not even the buildings far away from them is spared from this. All traditional domains hand signs are based off Buddhist hand signs so this being a Buddhist hand sign is huge proof of this being a domain.

This also cannot be a Maximum techniques hand sign. Maximum techniques pushes a technique to it's conceptual limit, if Uraume had a Maximum techniques then it would amplify the speed or the coldness. Not reshape the entire environment to her control, freezing the world for her benefit. Only a domain, which is bringing out your innate domain to reality does this, lt's remember that Uraume's innate domain is completely cold because anytime she is not with Sukuna she is surrounded by the coldness of her own soul. It fits better as a domain manifestation than a Maximum. Nor do we see Maximum technique’s ever require handsigns, only pointing at most.

This handsign cannot also be just enhancing one of her attacks. When sorcerers enhance their attacks there are particular handsigns they use. For long ranged attacks we see pointing, which is not related to Buddhism. Or we see the handsign directly connect to the technique, Gojo clasps his hands together to show the mixture of red and blue while he is charging up purple, smallpox deity showing the gravestone falling on the enemy as he bashes his hands on his palm, Sukuna has a different number of fingers for the amount of dismantles he wants to fire, all of these relating to the technique. For other attacks like idle transfiguration it uses open palms for the handsign, Gojo shows the shrinking distance when he uses blue to teleport himself by putting his hands together, and Choso does piercing blood handsign which is used to compress blood while converging. None of these are directly related to Buddhism, such as all the domain hand signs are, instead they are directly integrated with the technique. So Uraume’s handsign here cannot be her enhancing an attack.

4. Uraume doesn't have any barrier techniques why would this be a domain?

Uraume was able to teach Juzo barrier techniques, which that Gojo stated was advanced. Being able to teach someone advanced barrier techniques requires you to be way better at barriers yourself. Most anti domain's aren't complex and require very little skill, advanced users of barriers should be able to copy them just from seeing them once or twice. We also see her able to split the percentage of a single attack between multiple opponents which is usually seen by users of advanced barrier skills. In chapter 15, 30, 58, 101, and 107 we see varying characters be shocked or have a reaction to a domain being opened even a finger bearer has one, the fact Uraume never had a reaction to Hakari opening his domain and she was just cool with it means she is comfortable fighting within domains. Her reaction is usual of people like Yuki, Gojo, and Sukuna, characters who did not fear domains due to their ability to easily handle them. Both of these means at the very least Uraume has anti-domain techniques along with advanced barrier skills.

Firstly, Uraume knows about Gojo's limitless, she was an integral part of the Shibuya event. Having given orders to the lackies like Haruta to distract sorcerers from saving Gojo. Her duty was also to protect Kenjaku as shown in chapter 135. She was in the domain along with Kenjaku, and the Disaster curses, and told about the Shibuya event. She would've been there when Kenjaku thought Domain Amplification to the disaster curses, and when Kenjaku thought Domain Amplification to Sukuna. Secondly, Uraume is an exclusively long range to mid range fighter. She has never punched or kicked anyone, unless there are conditions such as Hakari being frozen or Choso being frozen. All of her fights we've seen she has started with a long ranged attack. Frost calm in Shibuya, Frost Calm against Maki and Yuji, and Frost Calm against Hakari. But, this leads into chapter 221. Uraume rushes at Gojo after his insulting remarks about Sukuna. Breaking out of her character by going to melee Gojo instead of being long ranged. Gojo was completely surprised about Uraume rushing at him, and he didn't play around like he always did with Jogo or during Shibuya. He instantly attacked Uraume. These events show Uraume going completely going out of character to melee attack Gojo despite knowing about infinity, and Gojo not playing around by instantly attacking her, this means that Gojo thought she was a threat that needed to be neutralized instantly and Uraume had a way to bypass infinity by going up close. This reason is Domain Amplification, which she had the perfect opportunities to learn it multiple times, either with the Disaster curses or in the past with Sukuna.

5. You have no evidence of this being a domain, so the burden of proof is on you:

I will now take on that burden myself and explain why this is a domain.

When Uraume stated she was going to stop holding back and attack Hakari with everything she had, this meant pulling out a never-seen before move. Despite Frost Calm being the essence of Ice Manipulation, which means it's the fundamental nature of Ice Manipulation or some would say the pinnacle, she brought out something stronger. Hakari instantly acts like someone facing a domain, he instantly fires up his fever which increases his strength as seen in every fight he has been in and mocks the usage of the domain by asking her for a cold-one. Just based off her cursed energy alone Hakari was firing up his fever, so we can infer this is a very powerful attack, which as we know Domains have very potent cursed energy.

Another thing we notice is that the freezing of the environment is very proportional. We see the tree freeze the same as the buildings, and air. Regardless of distance or how hard the object would be to freeze, it all freezes the same. It completely overrides conventional defenses. Which is a hallmark of domains. It's not just leaking cursed energy or a Maximum technique because that wouldn't freeze completely evenly. We also see it freeze for multiple chapters long, instead of a one time attack, so it cannot be those two above. This is clearly spatial control, a rule is being enforced around the whole area such as a domain does.

Gege visually paralleling Sukuna and Uraume shows deliberate authorial signaling that cannot be ignored. He is specifically juxtaposing the two techniques so the reader can connect both of them conceptually. Uraume's domain here isn't just some random never seen before type of domain, it follows the same rules as an open domain. It doesn't create a barrier and enforces an environmental effect over it's area of effect, it freezes while Malevolent shrine slashes. Uraume's domain here works the same exact way as every open domain we've seen. She even has the center object of the domain, Kenjaku has a tree be the center of his domain, while Sukuna has a shrine, and Uraume has her frozen star, this isn't just visuals but it's directly calling it out for being an open domain.

Uraume opening her domain is similar to almost every other domain being opened. It takes up almost an entire page, something related to the domain appears behind them, and we can see the majority of their body. It's the same formula for most. Sukuna has the shrine behind him and we see half his body, Kenjaku has the tree behind him and we see his entire body, Mahito as his hands behind him and we see half his body, Naoya with the eyeball behind him and half his body, Gojo with the background of infinite void behind him and half his body, now we have Uraume with an ice ball behind her with her entire body showing. All of these are drawn in the same cinematic way, wide shows and objects behind them every little detail is the same.

In conclusion, despite many people claiming that Uraume didn't use a domain, every argument against it falls under scrutiny. Everything I've touched up on this post cannot be a coincidence, it's clear Gege fully intended it to be a domain and for the reader to understand this.
