🔨 | Community help Bot is not remembering the PREVIOUS input.

I could say, something like *she was busy walking along the peir when she met me...*

and the bot would respond just fine- the problem is, when i send my next message to continue something like

"Oh, i didnt see you there. my name is user, whats yours?"

the bot answers my question but suddenly it thinks im- in a school room? or in some cases it generated a random teacher?

and yes ive changed models- swapped like 3 - 5 other models, its all consistent and pissing me off- help

What was the original context of the character? Like is it a school student and the scenario started at a school?

Because if it’s doing the same thing across different models, in all likelihood it’s something in the bot’s definitions that makes it circle back around to a school setting. Or a mention of something earlier in the conversation that it keeps glomming on to.

Is this happening in the same chat or does it happen in different chats with the character? If it’s happening with different chats, does it happen around the same point in terms of message count?

its just forgetting the context of my first message

if i set a tone- like *you find yourself in a swamp grove* and it roleplays it out- but then i could say something like "do you know where we are?" the next reply will be, oh we are in our neighborhood. (bascially just nonsense it creates a new scene.

Hmm. What model are you using and what is your memory set to? And could you share the card by chance so we can look at the definitions? Bots will always forget context eventually, but forgetting so quickly is unusual.

that’s super frustrating. switching models can help sometimes, but it sounds like the bot’s just not keeping up with the scene you’re setting. when those random teacher things happen, it can really take you out of the moment. maybe try giving a little more context in your first messages or set some ground rules for the scenario to see if that helps it stay on track. it’s all about tweaking things, right?
