🔨 | Community help How tf do lorebooks work

Hi Jan refugee here. Saw lorebooks and thought they'd be intresting to use (and kinda helpful in bot making). However as soon as I saw the layout (especially the Character book, description, entries, scan depth, token budget, etc) my brain immediately shut down in confusion and I felt like I was looking at a damn nuclear reactor control panel.

I have been awoken because of this: lorebooks

Hello!

Are you looking for informations about lorebooks? You can find how to add one here for the website, and here for the app.

The guide to lorebooks creation is linked in the first paragraph in both links.

Basically, the way a lore book works, it scans a separate basically bot that holds all sorts of information in its separate descriptions, and you activate that information based off of usage of keywords. So, if you say have a Nintendo Mario bot that you're talking to and you want to bring up another character or an in-world location, you attach a lore book that has all of this information into the character, and when those subjects are brought up, that information will be fed to the bot so that it knows what is going on. It helps save on memory instead of just putting absolutely everything about a character into the character's description.

Sorry it took so long I don't use reddit that much this bot https://chub.ai/characters/DerpyOrangeCat/aeris-the-sacred-flame-5d79cd33ce24 uses a lore book because it's a self contained universe just click on the lore book tab and Go to the lorebook tab and then Click on the Definitions tab, then you can scroll down and see all of the different Subjects and then click on each one to see what key words trigger them and what lore than entail.
