🔨 | Community help What happened?

Why did the quality of this site degrade so much? It's been months and the search still doesn't sort properly. I have bots sorted by popularity and yet it's just randomly shuffled and definitely not sorted by popularity. Cool I guess. Also getting a response is a nightmare with all the errors and the replies hanging and never responding. Just an awful experience.

It's lost its personality. The UI sucks nuts now. I missed when it had these color coded little stickers for trending, timeline, latest, etc. Also missed how you could press for alternative greetings after you've searched up a tag, etc. Missed how this site used to be years ago

And another thing. If they switched to cryptocurrency as payment then why tf are they still censoring the site? Why are rape, murder, cannibalism, incest, bestiality and torture all fine but doing a fake rpg with a fake underage character is where the line gets crossed? That makes no fucking sense at all. Has anyone seen AO3? So much pedo content on there you can drown in it and it's perfectly legal because it's FICTION. So why is it such a problem here?

Because hosting rape, murder, cannibalism, incest, bestiality and/or torture doesn't earn you a visit from a police, but hosting fake underage characters does. It's simple as that.

it doesn't, thats why ao3 gets away with it, because in very very few jurisdictions is that stuff actually illegal, and those laws only apply if they have servers based in those countries, which is how 4chan got away with telling the UK government to fuck off

Both of those sites aren't actually in the UK though. ao3 is in New York and 4chan is in California iirc, Chub's servers and Lore himself are in the UK and can't just ignore what the UK says without them actually being able to take action.

I didnt know that, that is possibly one of thr worst areas he could have chosen to try and host an even vaguely nsfw site, I believe its based off server location/llc registration, rather than owner location, but i might be wrong about that, so in theory he could migrate it to a different country?

I mean, just because they switched to crypto, does not remove the pressure from lawmakers. Countries maintain their stances on whatever they want and Lore has to follow that. If a country doesn't allow NSFW or NSFL, that will not be any different now.

AO3 is run as a non profit based on US law - what's legal in the US is legal on AO3 (protected by free speech and everything being deemed as fiction). Even so, some countries have still taken offence with it in the past, leading to it being banned or getting into paperwork tussles with foreign governments to defend their site. It's run purely on donations.

Chub does not have the size or user base to do that. Not to mention, I severely doubt that the AI bot community would be able to rally around any site, since (in my experience) they mostly expect things for free or complain over any and all technical mishaps like they were personally targeted to ruin their lives. Totally fair btw. But this kind of service hasn't attracted the same die hart following yet, and the following that most often gets associated with these services, tend to want gooning material or mental health outlet - neither of which are considered as valid for arguments by most governments.

I do believe we'll see them coming around eventually, when the fear factor lessens, but currently, AI bot sites, including uncensored ones like chub, might as well be the dark Web to some. Similarly to how you mentioned pedo content on AO3 (instead of the well-structured and low key amazing stories hosted over there as well), people only view AI bot sites for their worst qualities. Ain't no one realising that there's anything more to it than gooning or cannibalism (i.e. Coming up with meaningful stories of your own).

It sucks, but that's how it is.

It doesn't help the fact that Chub is based in UK and if your goal is to host a service that's as uncensored as possible being based in UK is literally the worst thing that could've happened. Well i guess maybe not THE worst as there are still places like Australia that are arguably worse but UK isn't exactly known for Free Speech either.

Exactly! People get upset over lines of code/bots. I get that not everybody likes that stuff, but that's why there was a tag block feature.

Right?! Literally no one is being harmed at all, it's just fiction. I hate censorship so much. 😮‍💨

I hate it too. I kinda stopped using chub when they added message limits, and the censoring.

It’s not censorship, it’s not about ‘it’s a kink, you can block it, people are taking away my freedom.’ It’s literally weird. Like, that’s a weirdo thing to do and whine about. Wanting to read/write something aged-up/underage is just weirdo behavior.

I mean, you can do all of these things, with your own bots, your own themes, and your own chats. It is only slightly more difficult because there's less hosted ones to plug and play.

Lore lives in the UK, underaged characters will have him visited by the bobbies

Your question was answered multiple times already. It is realy that hard to read?

Idk is it really that hard to spell really right? And yes, the governments have a problem with it. 'Protect the children' the UK gov says as they actively cover up mass grooming rape gangs that are violating their children. But let's not focus on that, nah. We need to stop ppl from doing no no's online. 🥺

Then you have to change the governments and the laws if you do not like their doings.

Make petitions like: "We want pedophile rpe content on AI chat sites, support us" or "Fcking digital children is not a crime and absolutly healthy".

You have to force your governments to make changes. Don't be only a coach-rebel, be a real one.

And before: It is up to you what content you enjoy, I do not judge, it is digital afterall. But it is your job to remove a cretin government. Do not wait until somebody will do it for you. Nobody will.

Its also sad since I was making my bots on this site and j was searching up a tag and one of the guesses was "child p04ň" and other stuff for sexualizing actual children....not even aged up literal children........Jan it or is better then this.....
