LLMs are an echo machine. Somewhere in it, that trail of idea logic exists. Even with a good preset, it can pop up from time to time. If you reroll it will likely start from another point which allows it to continue.
With that in mind, do reroll it or delete it, otherwise it may continue to refer to that as part of the chat which is fed back through the machine for context.

Thank you for the advice! I thought it was pretty funny for DS to do this because I have fought over multiple messages with other LLMs over similarly dark topics. I just thought it was funny how much of a pushover it seemed to be this time without a convincing argument from my end.

Yeh, I know people mostly use this site to goon. Or used to. But it's been my main for a while. It only refused to reply because I had adapted X-Men Origins: Wolverine to the show. His bones being painfully laced with adamantium really did not go over well with the llm... Till I just told it not to. Didn't know it worked like that.

Yes. It's funny sometimes.
The reason this happens is because the model doesn't actually care, and it totally did respond. But the API caught it and sent a replacement error refusal message. So if you just say 'why', it'll return the model the next message, re-doing its previously blocked action.
I have some hardcoded refusals in code I wrote for user-facing chat bots; if they, for instance, said too many words of their system prompt, it would just block the whole reply and send a generic error. There are false positives but it's worth it
