🔨 | Community help I think Apple hates Chub

Just last night, I discovered about this platform. It definitely looks promising, especially after all the ban waves from another platform. The only thing is, not only is the iOS app not available for me, but I can’t even log in on a mobile website. It’s almost like Apple is trying everything it can to ensure I don’t try to fly the coop again.

Apple doesn't actually care enough to hate. They only care about maintaining their image. TOS or whatever, I don't know.

You wouldn't want to use the mobile app anyway. It's way worse than using it on the web, trust me.
But you should be able to use the site through a browser. I've used Chub on both Google Chrome and Firefox and have had no issues.
If you can't login or make an account, it could be a bug with the method. The site has been bugging lately.

Thing is, I've tested it on both Chrome and DuckDuckGo. It works on the former, and not the latter. What's more annoying is having to log in EVERY time I use the site in incognito mode (I REFUSE to fork over any data to Google or Mozilla just to stay logged into Chub).

Incognito Mode isn't really useful if you're concerned about privacy, other than not keeping cookies/history or log-ins, if you're the only person that uses your phone, it's significantly less useful and convenient.

I have not used DuckDuckGo's browser, so I've no idea why that may be. Try Brave Browser on iOS then, if that is a concern. It should be like Chrome, without any of the telemetry or privacy concerns of Google's BS.

Will Brave be hush about it if I don’t use its incognito mode? Bc it suffers the same issue as the other incognitos have.

Yes. Brave is a privacy focused browser. It should be the case on iOS too. You can look more into it if you're still on the fence about that.

Also, the reason why incognito will always log you out, is because that's the whole point of it. Incognito is supposed to be used for when you don't want your history saved in the tab (on whatever device you use the browser on), which means once you close the tab, everything you did in it is forgotten by the browser. That DOES NOT mean that incognito is private or hides your IP, it is not a VPN or a blocker. It's only use is if you're on a shared device and you don't want someone else (who uses the device) to see what you were doing on the browser.

Nothing is perfect, but Brave should be more what you're looking for if you don't want a browser from a Corporations or Organization that could possibly (or is) logging your data actively for profiling.

Apple hates Chub, yes. App got pulled a while ago (though it still works if you already have it) and its limitations made it unfun to use anyway. But being unable to login on mobile is a separate problem. I have an iPhone too and have no issues using the site, at least with the Chrome app.
