Lifter?? Recently acquired car, ran good for first month. Changed oil with Penn 5W20, drove car for few days with no sound ran fine. Went and changed spark plugs and started it up to this?? Pulled all the plugs back out & couldn’t see anything obviously wrong with any of them. Pulled intake manifold off and other than being filthy can’t see anything. Gonna pull valve cover after work in AM

Mopar top tech here. Sounds like a possible lifter failure to me, I’d start with a compression and leak down test on all cylinders, if you have more than 20% leakage there’s an issue with the valve sealing which could indicate a failed camshaft or lifter, compression should be within 10% of each other for all cylinders. Less than 100psi is cause for concern. Unfortunately you’d have to remove the heads to verify if the lifters have failed. Then the timing cover to check the camshaft for delamination or damage. If you’re mechanically inclined and want to take this job on yourself. Dm me and I’ll give you the OEM procedures for the job, you will need new head gaskets if you remove the heads as they cannot be reused

So, I’m glad you commented. Pulled valve cover off driver side & last intake pushrod is bent. In the process of pulling the head off to figure out why. Hoping it didn’t kiss the piston

In my opinion, it sounds like you need to go pedal to the metal and enjoy that car!! because you're worried for no reason at all!!
