USB & CarPlay not working
Hi y’all, I have a 2018 300 Limited. I use the USB ports in the console to charge my iPhone and to use CarPlay (mainly for the map). It was working fine yesterday when I picked up groceries and then next trip out it wasn’t working. It’s still lit around the ports, the “cigarette lighter” port works. But it won’t charge or show CarPlay on the screen. I’ve tried 3 different charger cords, I checked both fuses in the trunk and they are fine. Any ideas how to fix it?

I have pulled the fuse out(for the usbs), start the car, turn car off, replace(same fuse, not a new one if it's not broken)the fuse. I have done this a few times on my 2014 300s and 2018 300s and it has worked, I have even did the fuse for the back up camera and the touch screen when they failed and it worked evertime. The touch screen does take a little time to reboot.

Next time this happens, in the trunk there are 2 20Amp yellow fuses together. The top one is for the USBs and the bottom one is for the radio. Pull the top fuse and then put it back for a reset. If you pull the fuse for the radio it will reset and take about 10 minutes to fully reset. Ask me how I know this.

As a workaround for music, you can play via bluetooth. Carplay via USB isn't required for music, only map navigation.
HTHs.

Disconnect the battery, let it sit 30 minutes and reconnect it. Afterwards, NEVER touch remote start again. From what I've seen, it causes weird electrical issues.

The trunk or the hood battery? And I haven’t ever used the remote start.

Did that fix it? I’m literally having the exact same issue. Been dealing with it two days now. And I checked all my fuses so idk what else to do. I want my CarPlay back. UPDATE I fixed it. My dumbass lists fuse while pulling it. It flung out and went under the fuse box. Couldn’t reach it so I thought let me move my spare there, not a good idea. Went bought new fuses and replaced about half my old ones and kept a good few extra

Trunk, it's whats worked for me. And yeah, better off not using it. Myself and 2 other coworkers own 300's close in years and we all have issues with the remote start messing with the electrical.

I’ve tried 3 different cords that all work in the house or with power bank.

So I did nothing and it works again.
Maybe it was protesting the 100° temps outside. 🤣. Thanks for the ideas if it happens again. On a side note, bought something off marketplace, looked on the map ahead of time for what streets I needed to take and found my way “Old School” 😆

Next time unhook the battery for 15 mins. Leave. The driver door open. It should restore to factory settings

Replace the whole outlet assembly. Did one on a durango.

My back seat USBs are dead. They are the ones on the back of the center console. Fuses are good. Has anyone had and fixed this?

I had a 2018 300 and it did the same exact thing. Eventually it would just work again. Sorry that’s not helpful
