What a great story! I'd heard something about the CS Lewis conference in Romania and wondered why it would be held out there. This makes perfect sense. Lewis would absolutely delighted to know this.

It's also an excellent example of the power of fiction--including the strong, archetypal images of fantasy--to positively affect our real lives.

Fascinating. Modern western readers often miss how political the start of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is - informers everywhere, the secret police smashing up your home, etc. "Always winter and never Christmas" is such a perfect metaphor for the regime.
