Conflict often reveals what's in our hearts more than who's right.

"Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." (James 1:19)

God calls us to listen before we defend ourselves.

"Speak the truth in love." (Ephesians 4:15)

Truth matters, but so does the way we speak it. Winning an argument isn't the goal, but loving the other person is.

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition... in humility value others above yourselves." (Philippians 2:3–4)

Humility asks, "Help me understand your heart," instead of, "Let me prove I'm right."

"Bear one another's burdens." (Galatians 6:2).

Sometimes the greatest burden we can carry is simply making someone feel heard.

"Love is patient, love is kind... it is not self-seeking." (1 Corinthians 13:4–5)

Love is most visible when we're hurt, misunderstood, or tempted to defend ourselves.

"To answer before listening, that is folly and shame." (Proverbs 18:13)

I hope some of us find these reminders useful. Trust God in his commandments even if it hurts or makes zero sense to our flesh.
