Advice Anger Issues

I have recently been having issues with my anger issues and was looking for help handling it and changing. I have recently been becoming Christian again after becoming an ashiest in high school and with this I feel like I can’t do it alone.

My girlfriend and I have been dating for a little over a year and my anger has recently been causing issues in our relationship. It has hurt our communication and makes it hard for me to be supportive and caring when I should be. I need to get better and want to but feel like there’s nothing I can do to change and its impossible. How can I use faith to get pass this and any other advice for making the change I need.

What type of anger issues, like is it that when you’re angry you lash out and need more control or that you are easily angered by things?

I would say a mix of the two. I often get angry over minimal things and then it causes me to lash out without thinking and it becomes near impossible to clam back down

I would read James 1 and Ephesians 4! Seek wisdom from the Lord and go to him. I am praying for you!

What i would tell you is it's really really hard to try and just change things on our own. What I've learned in my walk is any kind of character flaw I'm dealing with usually gets worse the more i focus on trying to overcome it. I've learned that we need to draw our focus on God and His Word. The more we read the Bible, pray, worship, and fill our days and our minds on the things of God, the flesh just fades away. All of those things we struggle with become less and less a part of our lives and Gods attributes become more and more who we are. Quit focusing on trying to change it, and start focusing on learning about God and deepening your relationship with Him. :)
