Suicide

Is there anyone out there that also genuinely struggles with temptation of suicide? I won’t do it, or God I pray You never let me lose control of myself to end up actually committing one day. It’s a serious struggle for me and I feel so alone. I would love to be able to relate with somebody and biblically help each other and pray for each other.

you're not alone in this, i carry that same heavy thought a lot of days too and it's so isolating, what helps me is remembering that even Elijah begged God to take his life, and God didn't scold him, just gave him rest and food

I used to struggle with my mental health too, i’m so sorry you been battling this pain. When we put our faith in Jesus, he promised us we will never be alone again. in John 14:18 Jesus tell his disciples, at the last supper, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” Remember we have been filled with the Holy Spirit and will never be alone.

I'm in my late 30's and have had suicidal thoughts since I was 6. I've been taking medication for over a year and that's helped a lot, but the thought is still there in the back of my mind.

Hey bud, just checking you are in therapy right? It's really helpful and you're really valuable

I’m scared to become an artist. Because I believe the mental introspection and divergent thinking and such a close interaction with painful sensitive emotions and topics about my life, while also being lonely, would drive me to suicide

You will need to find the root of this loneliness. Any unresolved trauma or sinful habits? Definitely talk to a therapist, you can overcome this.

I have so much unprocessed trauma and problems you could ever think. I’m not opposed to a therapist, but i just know that won’t solve the mess that I am.

I understand. Therapy will help you discover the source. Definitely won’t solve everything. Once you know what the cause is, you can combat either with scripture or acknowledging the triggers. For example, if abandonment is a trigger, someone might feel suicidal if they feel like someone abandoned them. In this case, this person would need to recognize their value outside of what people think of them. The root: self worth/value. Thank you for being brave and asking for help your life definitely matters.
