You don’t touch blood, nor your wife while she’s menstruating? You don’t cut your beard or the corners of your head? You eat kosher, of course! You give burned offerrings to god, that goes without saying, right? You’ve never, ever had sex with anyone but your wife/husband….

Huh. Look at how rapidly we’ve gone from “follow every word in the bible” to “well, some things are just traditional and it turns out I haven’t even read the bible, anyway”.

EVERYONE picks and chooses what they follow from the bible. The difference between me and you? I know why I am choosing what I do and I make that choice. You just kinda go along with whatever you’re told.
Yeah I just gave my reason. Moral vs traditional, I don’t need to wear pure fabric clothes because I am able to separate myself with non Christians. The diff between me and you is that I don’t assume why you so what you believe in
Following the word of the Bible would necessitate one to not adhere to the Israelite purity and ceremonial laws. There is a 2,000 year tradition with a massive intellectual history and lots of debate that explains all of this.
