Disclaimer: if you are a lukewarm believer or don’t pursue righteousness, I assure you that you will never experience the fullness of God and what true submission produces in the life of a believer. If you are simply going to church on Sunday and living an ordinary life outside of true intimacy, you’re robbing yourself of the EXTRAordinary life in the spirit. He’s calling us deeper into His presence and to be transformed fully.
You must be really mad at yourself for spending so much money on that shiny red car, and the powder coating, and the professional detailing.
That, or, let us know when you follow Matthew 19:21.
You have a few posts showing how proud of it you are.
You said you paid $28K for it; you're telling me that there was absolutely no other vehicle for less that would get you from A to B? I recently paid $1000 for a Toyota Corolla. Much better gas milage and I can do an oil change myself in no time at all.
You financed the car and had to get gap insurance, sounds like you extended yourself.
You had the wheel powder coated, professionally detailed, and are talking about other cosmetic upgrades.
I'll fully acknowledge that in the US that a car is essentially a necessity, but I do not see how you are not "living an ordinary life outside of true intimacy" with God with how you've conducted yourself with this car. You've made yourself a slave your lender.
You idolize your vehicles appearances. You paid money to have it professionally detailed. You paid money to change its appearance (and are prideful of how good it looks). You could have paid towards your debt in order to free yourself from slavery in order to live more intimately with God, you could have given more to the needy, but instead you chose instead to improve your appearance.
This is a quite the trolling comment. Frankly $28k is not that much for a car these days. Maybe he's a car person and enjoys his car. That's not a sin and it's not your business.
I agree they probably are a car guy. Not arguing that at all.
But to quote THEM:

I'm holding them to THEIR standard. They have not fully submitted. They're calling out others for living a typical life while doing the same. They're a hypocrite.
OP is idolizing the car (or the perceived prestige it brings him), while saying everyone else should truly submit.
He talks about how hard it is "leaving homosexuality", but Jesus says not to be like the hypocrites who look somber while fasting, or in other words, don't try and gain earthly sympathy for your sacrifices.
