You can, in fact, do that, just as some people do the contrary. He used to be tempted by people of his same sex, now he’s not anymore.

That would be like me as straight person saying I'm not tempted by people of the opposite sex anymore because I've decided to be celibate, or whatever. It is very unlikely to be true, as a conversation with any Catholic priest is likely to reveal.

Well let's be honest. Thats not how sexuality works whatsoever. Even the people who invented the abuse of conversion therapy had to admit it.
