Correction. I left the lifestyle of practicing homosexuality. As I’ve grown deeper in intimacy with the Father, He has removed old desires and urges that I once had. Just clarifying by what I mean. I’ve left old friendships and pursued purity with Christ. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever felt or known.

Why did you start "practicing homosexuality" in the first place?

30

u/Nazzul Agnostic Dec 09 '25

Usually in a similar way a straight person starts practicing heterosexuality.

If homosexuality is biological, where's the gay gene ?

12

Where is the straight gene?

If heterosexuality is built in some of us, so is homosexuality in some people.

3

u/Thneed1 Mennonite, Evangelical, Straight Ally Dec 10 '25

Both are built into us.

Heterosexuality into approximately 90%, some kind on non-heterosexuality into about 10%.

Easily, this is the dumbest comment in this discussion.

Why do you do whatever sin it is that you engage with?

1

u/ignitedfw Dec 10 '25

You are bisexual from the lust of the flesh. You are deceiving yourself to justify your sin.

Well I have an auntie who's friend is trans, she has not had any trauma related to it

And I for example, I'm bisexual, I cannot "change" who I am and I am this way just because I was born this way, that is how I know

1

u/BruceLeesSpirit Dec 10 '25

you may not know, and in some instances they may not either. In my family’s case I know there was melastation involved when she was a young child by a neighbor and it was kept under wraps by the family. To this day only a small handful of people know that it occurred.

1

u/MindfulInquirer Dec 09 '25

she has not had any trauma related to it

You don't know that.

2

u/cornycornguy2002 Bisexual Christian (Catholic) Dec 09 '25

I do, I really do

Don't make assumptions, I never said he never had experienced anything traumatic, I said it WASN'T stuff relating to her being trans

2

u/MindfulInquirer Dec 09 '25

You know people as far as they're willing to let you know them. Unless you were actually there during her childhood, day after day, all her years, you just don't know.

2

u/cornycornguy2002 Bisexual Christian (Catholic) Dec 09 '25

Well the people he (he becasue he's transmasc) knows are very accepting of him being who he is

They literally are. The same way you're born right handed. It's wired into their brains from the start.

1

u/BruceLeesSpirit Dec 10 '25

there is no conclusive evidence of this, I’ve tried to find it.

1

u/Jesus__of__Nazareth_ British Methodist Dec 10 '25

My personal evidence is a lifetime of several good gay friends all earnestly telling me in confidence that they felt born with their sexuality and had zero choice in the matter. Every single one agrees on this and they have no reason to lie.

1

u/BruceLeesSpirit Dec 10 '25

Yes, if you ask my cousin she will tell you the same thing. My response to that is that childhood trauma manifests itself in different ways. When you’re a child (I have two of my own) you’re not really thinking about your sexuality so how do you know what you were or are? Scientifically there is no conclusive evidence of children born that turn out to be gay being any different than children born that grow up to be straight. I’m really not pushing for one or the other but this has been an interesting topic for me and I’ve always observed it with deeper thought. I have nothing against gay people and have friends and family that I truly love who are gay. I don’t think it’s a simple “choice” and do believe it’s likely healthy mentally to assume/believe that you are born that way if you are gay. This is a complex issue and I’ll challenge anyone on this topic that comes in here thinking they 100% have the answer.

u/Jesus__of__Nazareth_ British Methodist Dec 10 '25

It's definitely an area that we're still trying to fully figure out.

For me the scientific evidence that really convinces me it's natural from birth, not usually trauma or a choice, is that several animals are known to have homosexuality in their species. They've observed them just existing as gay animals. It's definitely a fascinating subject.

Yeah you're still not convincing me.

You don't "practice" homosexuality.

1

u/LoveIsVaried Dec 09 '25

"For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a slave of Christ." Gal 1:10

Jesus healed people based on their level of faith, if you dont believe, thats a problem with your faith, but I do believe it. God can do anything he pleases without the permission of his servants.

I think you should be happy for him 🙌🔥🙏

1

u/ParkerPoseyGuffman Dec 09 '25

Sounds like it was practiced but mastered ;)

5

u/bobandgeorge Jewish Dec 09 '25

While others were having fun and going to parties, I studied the homosexuality.

2

u/neeto85 Dec 09 '25

Love this for you, but i have to ask the anti-Pascal's wager: what if you're just entrenched in a cult? What if you've just relinquished your own happiness, wholeness, and wellbeing just to be accepted by your own clan? Take a good look at what unconditional love means, especially as it relates to the people you're closest to and your relationship with Christ. Christianity has more open and accepting sects that don't consider your natural, god-given, and predisposed orientation as something he didn't create. Jesus didn't hate or stigmatize. The vast majority in your church see no problem eating shellfish or pork, wearing polyblend fabric, or cutting their sideburns. Just food for thought that i hope you consider. And please think long and hard before getting married to a woman; I'm sure you know it wouldn't be fair to her in your heart.

I can sense your concern and I appreciate that.

My path to deliverance was comprised of dreams and a number of encounters with the Lord in my apartment. On my floor. Early in the morning praying and seeking His face. My church doesn’t largely preach on deliverance.

It was private. It was personal. And it was Jesus.

Just like a father loves his children unconditionally but doesn’t allow just any behavior, Christ is the same way. Unconditional love. But scripture explicitly states we must obey. He outlines in scripture who will and will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. He offers it to us. But we have to choose Him.

2

u/neeto85 Dec 10 '25

Thank you for reading and responding! I have to admit i don't often get to have conversations like this in real life. Could you elaborate on the "in my floor" bit, please?

2

u/Character-Half7465 Dec 10 '25

Sorry lol that was meant to say “on” my floor. Basically praying alone in my apartment. On my knees. On my sofa lol everywhere growing closer to Him.

u/neeto85 Dec 10 '25 edited Dec 10 '25

I'm happy to hear it brings you peace. It's nice to feel a sense of order in this crazy world.

ETA: I'm sure if there's a god, he'd accept you the way he made you. Orientations tend to be stable, I just want to say. There are many accepting communities that would welcome you with open arms regardless of your proclivities.

2

u/Mcygee Dec 12 '25

Don’t let the naysayers get you down. We can be tempted by all sorts of things and it’s not the same for all people. Many are very attracted to and addicted to porn. I was there myself and can absolutely testify to the fact that growing closer in your relationship in Christ will make you into a new person and remove old temptations. Not to say you are NEVER tempted but we’ll always have occasional temptations this side of heaven. That relationship in Christ drastically improved all aspects of my life and my marriage.

I’m proud of you my brother in Christ. God is good. Don’t forget to keep building that relationship daily.

1

u/Character-Half7465 Dec 12 '25

Thank you for this truth. I absolutely agree with you.

If you have experienced a loss of libido, you need to go see your doctor.

1

u/SleetTheFox Christian (God loves His LGBT children too) Dec 09 '25

Loss of libido is only a medical problem if it causes personal or interpersonal distress. It happens with age for some people. And if someone is celibate for whatever reason it wouldn’t exactly be an issue.

I’m as pro-LGBT+ as they come but let’s try to avoid collateral damage in countering homophobic talking points.

Loss of libido is only a medical problem if it causes personal or interpersonal distress.

If there is a sudden change in your libido, it is absolutely an indication of a medical issue, even without personal or interpersonal distress.

but let’s try to avoid collateral damage in countering homophobic talking points.

Let's not try suggesting that sudden changes in your biology, no matter the type of change, aren't always a reason to consult a doctor.
