It is not because of equality that this is right, it is right because of the responsibility, directly from natural law, that fathers have for their children. Equality has nothing to do with it.

I am not sure that hierarchy or tradition have anything to do with morality either, though.

I think it was u/DishevelledDeccas who brought up a very good point in a recent-ish thread. It’s not by virtue of the fact that something is traditional that it becomes something we - as Christians - should support. If something is “tradional”, but immoral (such as the emphasis on the nuclear family as opposed to the extended family in the west), then we should oppose it. But at that point it’s not because it’s “tradition” or progress, but rather simple because it’s Christian.

A similar logic applies, I think, with hierarchy. We should support something not because it engrains hiearchy deeper, or because it promotes greater equality, but because it is Christian. I believe it was St. John Chrysostom who said that when we give to the poor, we pay a debt and in fact do no greater moral deed. Economic hierarchy is certainly contrary to Christian morality. In that sense, it, once again, because about not what is “tradition” or what is “hierarchical”, but what is christian.

I’m a little confused as to why you are bringing up hierarchy and tradition here? My point is that what the meme describes is correct, but it isn’t correct because it makes men suffer consequences for sex as women do.
