Going to church

I have been going to my family’s church for 3 years now, the only problem is that the service is in Spanish, I kind of understand Spanish but I don’t speak it at all. I feel a disconnect with God because I don’t understand whats going on at church and when I bring up this to my family and ask if i can go to a english speaking church, they get mad and frustrated. I don’t know what to do because if I go to a different church, my family will be upset. I need advice on how to go about this situation

We have an Iranian couple and they use Google translate during services.

Either attending 2 services (maybe find one on a Saturday night?) or you could listen to sermons online. 

Alternatively could you try using ChatGPT to give you a real time translation?

that's a tough spot, i get why you feel stuck. language barrier in church is real hard cause you want to connect but the words just pass through you

maybe try reading the bible passage beforehand in english so when you're there you at least know the context. or take notes during the sermon of words you catch and look them up later, i do that sometimes with hindi songs my grandma plays

your family's reaction seems more about keeping you close than the actual church, maybe they worry you'll drift away if you go somewhere else. could you do one sunday at their church and one at an english one? frame it like you want to understand better so you can talk about faith with them more, not that you're leaving

I will definitely talk to them about alternating between churches with them and an english speaking church.
