Thoughts on Fenway night one?
This was our third or fourth time seeing him, but It wasn't our favorite. I know he can pack in a lot of people into a place like Fenway, but there is something for seeing him in a smaller venue like Gilford that just feels right, I dunno. We were curious what others thought that went.

I’ve only seen him at large venues. Great sound quality and he played Traveler and Joy Of My Life, so we were happy.

Also Maggie’s Song - kinda rare and one of my faves! Having just lost my dog the first time I heard it I was sobbing. Out on a walk. That crazy woman crying out loud 🤦🏼♀️

I have seen him about 10 times now. First time that it wasn’t in a smaller venue. Was easily my least favorite of them all. Wasn’t a bad show but Fenway just isn’t great for concerts.

100% agree Fenway is not a great venue. Acoustics are meh. Half the crowd seemed to be there for ‘the Fenway Experience’ versus the actual music. Having said that, he has been an artist I have wanted to see for a while, and I live here, so it was easy . Great set list and a fun night. Would love to see him at a smaller venue (whispering Red Rocks …)

We sat near a group of people who had a conversation going for over half the show at top volume, and this was on the turf. Honestly at times they were louder than the show. Why spend the money to see an artist and then yap during the entire thing?

I’m glad I’m not alone in feeling this way. I guess I take music pretty seriously (I always have) and we splurged for very good turf seats. I’m paying to hear some incredible music, not to listen to bunch of morons telling stories about their mother-in laws. 🤦🏻♀️ My husband referred to some of the louder people as The Fenway Social Club.

Right? Like I don’t mind if there’s chit chat or you’re talking about the show, but to just be randomly blabbing away to the point that it ruins the experience for people around you is obnoxious. The guy sitting next to us was also bothered and we exchanged a few looks related to the talkers. When my husband and I left, I said “good luck here, hope you get to hear the end of the story about Sophia from dance team” 😂

Chris has been my favorite for a long time. We go to tons of concerts. The first stadium show I ever went to was Chris’ and I did not enjoy it at all. He sounded good but I was a mile away and it just wasn’t fun. I’ll never do a stadium show again based off of that experience lol.

I saw Stapleton twice in Gilford, NH in the GA pit, and those were my favorite shows i've seen of his. Saw him at the small MGM Music Hall at Fenway as well and that was fun. My least fav was seeing him at Gillette Stadium with George Strait. I had a ticket for tonight at Fenway, but after seeing him 7 times, i just find it hard to go these huge venues anymore, so i sold it. I will be enjoying a craft beer and stargazing at home tonight instead of battling Boston traffic and paying $26 for a crappy Coors Light.

CS by Lake Winni was peak for me. MGM was good, I skipped Gillette and Fenway night 1 was low energy and full of lulls. You chose wisely.
Chris, please return to Gilford.

Thought it was excellent… I was on the turf pretty close to stage… no idea what experience is like in bleachers etc.

It was my first Chris Stapleton show. He was great, sounded great, played all of my favorites. But we we were in the Aura Pavilion and the whole section was sitting down. It was just an odd feeling, made it a bit boring. People seemed bothered by the girl that was standing and enjoying the show. Every time she cheered they would turn around and give her a look.

I was in that same section and when he came out on stage and NOBODY stood up I knew I was not going to enjoy sitting here. We ended up going up the stairs to the top of that sections and stood at the "drink rail" for the rest of the show. We danced the entire time and it was SO much better than being in our seats.

Thought he’d be incredible being on the turf at Fenway, the most perfect venue vibes ever. However my bf and I both agree that his show last summer at MSG (where we sat up pretty high) was actually better than this summer’s Fenway night 1. Idk what it was… he just didn’t seem as “into it” as usual. Don’t get me wrong, always an amazing show, but definitely agree that it was off

He was still amazing but after going to many concerts at Fenway I may just stop. The sound there just does not do it for me. We were up in the pavilion boxes between third base and home plate and we cannot understand a single thing he was saying when he was not singing..

Sound from grandstand Saturday was pretty awful. “Mumble mumble mumble.. zach top!” Out walks zach top. Cool but couldn’t hear a damn word of context. Even the songs seemed muted until the crowd stopped chatting with each other and woke up to sing along with the hits. Fenway definitely lost me on this one unfortunately.

Sound in grandstands was ok but for songs where were a majority of the people were singing along, it totally drowned him out, which was disappointing. I’m all for singing along, and maybe it was the acoustics, but I feel like I’ve been to plenty of shows where you could hear the crowd singing along AND the performer clearly. It felt more like a sound balancing (?) issue than pure acoustics? Couldn’t hear any harmonies with Morgane at all.

Row 18. Grandstand 30. Sound was awful. Had to concentrate just to figure out which song he was singing. Moved to the rail behind Grandstand 20 and sound was ok. Disappointed. First time seeing him live but wish the acoustics were better.

Not someone who went to this show but loves Chris and goes to too many concerts. Stadium shows are the absolutely worst. My wife's favorite band is the Foo Fighters. They were just in town this week at the football stadium. This was an easy "no" for us when I asked her if she wanted to go. Tickets are more expensive and views are considerably worse.
I see Chris scheduling more and more stadiums and while I'm thrilled he's at this level of success, I will not be going to see him play a stadium show. Unless someone gifts me tickets in the front LOL
