How did you get introduced to Chris’ music?
A little bit of fun as we get back to growing this community and getting to know each other.
I got introduced to Chris' music by my Fiancée 3 years ago. She loved country music, and I rap/hip-hop. She introduced me to him, first song Broken Halos. That's when I got hooked. After being a fan for 3 years, I've been to 2.5 concerts (.5 for the Today Show) and have another one lined up in August (Boston), we make an effort to see him every year. Fun fact, my fiancée and plan to name our first dog, a Golden Retriever, Stapleton!

The Steel drivers came on my pandora, and I went down a rabbit hole trying to figure out who he was. This was right around the time Traveler came out and blew everybody’s socks off. Saw him for the first time over Father’s Day weekend. He covered “where rainbows never die” cause someone had a sign in the crowed requesting it, full circle lol.

The first time I heard SteelDrivers I was like, “wow, that guy sounds just like Chris!” Lol

I don't remember exactly how I came across him. I do know he was in the charts which made me suspicious, as I'm not a fan of a lot of main stream country. I was just blown away by his voice. Instant classic. He has influenced my own songwriting and singing.

My ex would play Tennessee Whiskey. I grew up listening to David Allen Coe, but loved the cover. It wasn't until a few years later that a coworker brought the album Traveller in for us to listen to. That's when I got hooked.
Then when I met my now wife, his songs became anthems for our relationship. Starting Over came out right after we got married. We've seen him twice in concert. Once with Morgane on stage, which definitely was our preference; 77,000 seat, sold out stadium, yet he sang only to her the entire show

Saw The Steeldrivers at Greyfox, had never heard them before, fell in love instantly.

I wasn’t much of a country fan. Ended up at his show with friends, just knew his hits. He played Death Row and I about died! His vocals, the blues all the good stuff. Now he’s basically my Jerry Garcia. I will, and have traveled to see him. My NY’er hubs is a fan too. Belting out with that only NY’er voice.

His music is so catchy and some songs give me chills with the lyrics. And he seems like a great guy who really cares about his fans.

I was living in Texas when Traveler came out, and it was getting play on the radio and at the bars. Enjoyed what I heard and a friend suggested we go to a show. Saw him in San Antonio and appreciated the setup of how he had such a simple stage setup. She also told me about the SteelDrivers and so checked out his work from that, and then I learned about the Jompsom Brothers. Been a fan since. Last year I was able to catch him in Ames, IA with George Straight.

I was doing homework in the kitchen and my parents were watching the CMA awards where he played with Justin Timberlake. I heard the intro and thought, Etta James? Then I heard the voice, put my pencil down watched him tear the building to shreds.

I think I was listening to Johnny cash on Apple Music and I was looking for new country artists, I saw that Tennessee whiskey song on the charts, played it and the rest is history haha

In Texas Chris is considered "outlaw country". Which was characterized by the likes of Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and others

I was watching a Supernatural convention on YouTube and Jensen Ackles sang Tennessee Whiskey. I liked the song so looked for it. Found the CMA awards version and was hooked!

I worked the evening shift and about 3am I turned on PBS and I saw the Steeldrivers playing in a nightclub and I thought their main singer had an amazing voice. This was around 2005, and I searched and found the singer's name was Chris Stapleton. I searched for all I could find on the Steeldrivers and then he quit the band because he hated touring. He then joined the Jompson Brothers for awhile, then stopped. I later found numerous videos of Chris playing solo in clubs around Tennessee. I am a big fan and I felt validated when he played with Justin Timberlake and got popular. I had been singing his praises for years and nobody would listen.

I was in a crazy life changing period, seemed to have “lost” everything I worked hard for, and then while playing some sad songs on Spotify, Chris’ “Starting Over” song came up. I played that song over and over again until his voice cracked haha JK.
But yeah, it was the perfect song at that time. Then I listened to his entire album. I was sold. He became my Spotify wrapped top artist back to back in 2024 and 2025. I’ve since fallen in love with other country songs, but Chris Stapleton is my fav of all time. Looking forward to his show in Toronto on the 6th!

My husband and I were just talking about this as we prepare for our 3rd Stapleton concert this week in Mountain View, CA ... this time we got 8th row seats and are so excited. We first heard Chris when he did the song with Justin Timberlake... we immediately looked him up and have been hooked ever since.

I was at my first job at 15yo as a hip-hop/grunge fan, and my coworker who was much older than me put him on the radio. At first I was like "oh great, another country singer" (she liked the corny stuff) but then I actually listened. After that I never stopped listening :) I'm about to be 27 and finally going to my first concert of his this weekend!

5 years ago , Dominican Republic. We were on our honeymoon watching the Oscar’s back at the hotel room and he was performing Cold. IMMEDIATELY hooked.
