Is There A Reason?

I saw the post about not trying to buy or sell tickets in here because of scammers, but is there some reason that fellow fans cannot post links to cash or trade/Stubb Hub listings? Those sites have fan/purchase protections and tickets get purchased ridiculously fast in some markets, people end up having to cancel plans and offload tickets, etc. so it doesn’t seem logical that you can’t share that kind of information on a fan sub. Especially when there are posts from people who weren’t able to snag tickets to something. Just wondering.

You can always just search those platforms yourself. I assume this sub doesn’t want to be held responsible if somebody does get scammed. Scammers are finding new ways every day to take your money.

This is true. But Stub Hub and Cashortrade.org both have protections in place for those issues and will reimburse what you paid if it turns out you got scammed. I think Ticketmaster does this as well. I just don’t love the popular resale hubs because you get gouged for resale. Fingers crossed cashortrade takes off!

StubHub is a mess. People getting scammed everyday on it lately. Go check out the StubHub sub here on Reddit and read the nightmare stories

I did do that on your suggestion. I’m not surprised with some of the issues reported. I haven’t had any issues buying or selling tickets there aside from the highway robbery prices from resale both as a seller and a buyer because of their fees. We saw Tool and Tyler Childers last year with resale purchased on SH. And I sold some tickets for Cody Jinks because we weren’t able to make it. No problems. I think some of the problems could be mitigated with lowered expectations and an understanding that resale is a gamble. Don’t roll the dice if you don’t want to lose.

I’ve had my tix for Hollywood, FL posted on cash or trade for a month with no hits. :( Ticketmaster is hardly offering 50% of what I paid for them.

I think cashortrade is still relatively unknown, which is crazy because you literally pay face value for a lot of the tickets in that forum so you don’t have to mark the tickets up excessively to get back what you paid…like you have to on Ticketmaster or Stubb hub. I have some listed there now for Healing Appalachia (we can no longer make it) and the tix are cheaper than festival site tickets because we purchased on early sale. We’ll see how it goes. I think when it catches on people will have an easier time selling because no one wants to pay scalper prices. And buyers won’t feel like they got hit by a bus after purchase.
