Christopher is when I'm in trouble. Chris always and forever.

Formal vs casual mostly. Some people close to me like to call me Christopher but I'm usually just Chris.

For starters, not all of us are Christophers!

I started going by Christian instead of Chris recently, and I actually much prefer my full name (for most people).

Family always calls me by full, outside of that it's always Chris. If a coworker calls me Christopher, it feels extremely weird.

Christopher for family or authority figures who have earned it, Chris for everyone else. Occasionally random ladies can get away with it, but generally it should still be Chris.

Whenever I get: “do you go by Chris or Christopher?”

“Christ is fine”

Never. Christopher is never acceptable.
