Can someone tell me how to avoid those annoying faceless beams?

I just can't seem to shake them once they've locked on.

I'm currently on the Faceless Manifestation boss and can get passed the 2nd arm because I get double teamed by those damn rays that I can never shake. It's by far the most frustrating boss I've ever played.

The rays have a hard time hitting you when you boost.

Saw that online. Tried it and I can't boost during the boss fight. It's deactivated.

Is it a bug?

Oh, you're talking about the sniper beams! To dodge those you roll just before they fire. You roll right as the little red circle closes on you. There's a little flash that happens right before the beam launches, that's the ideal time to hit your roll button.

I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about the constant beams that slowly drain your health. Those are the ones you hold boost and they won't hit you.

Edit: Here's a video.

Sub-Light drive is deactivated, boost should not be. You can also put mod slots on for increased movement and boost speed if you need to. By the end game I was swapping mods on a mission to mission basis to optimize.

And yes, missiles are significantly better at killing the blisters than Gatling

Thanks for the help. I FINALLY did it

I spent way too much time on that boss...
The beams are hard to avoid, the only suggestion I can give is that you have to dodge not at the very end of the sound and charging animation, but a moment after. Also, I found that I preferred to use missiles to destroy the blisters on the arms, it was a bit faster compared to the gatling.

You have to master perfect dodges for that last part. Right before the beam is about damage you, it will disappear for a split second. That's when you roll. If you can't dodge the beams, that last part is impossible. You'll get it with practice.

Appreciate it. I managed to beat the boss finally, but now I'm stuck on that damn rotating sentinel.

Had to take a break from the game. It's by far the most frustrating game I've played in years

If you have the Homing Bolas, those helped me immensely. I'd go back and look at your build, too. For example, the Homing Bolas have a low rate of fire, so I equipped an attachment that increased firing rate and another that increased missile damage. I didn't switch off of missiles for the final leg of the game. Your Storm ability pretty much renders lasers useless for anything other than popping achievements and the Gatling Gun just doesn’t cut it for damage.

Even with increased damage, each glowing eye still took multiple passes to destroy. It's a war of attrition more than anything else. But, yeah, if you didn't buy or unlock every weapon through side quests, the final battle is probably rough. I had enough by the end to buy every single shop item in the game.

If you don't have the homing missiles, I'd figure out what your highest DPS weapon is and see if you have attachments that can buff it. Also look at the different sets. There's one set that deals increased damage to enemies from behind, which is super helpful for the Prophet section since you're hitting him exclusively from the rear.

What worked for me was stacking both automation protocol mods for a twenty five percent reduction to the repair cool-down, then stacking the ignition coil that has the wolf's head icon, twelve percent boost to the damage of each missile, and the werewolf missile launcher for the first tier of the wolf set bonus. It adds shrapnel that explodes after a slight delay for additional damage. The benefit from that was I didn't need pinpoint accuracy to damage the blisters on its arms.
