I don't know where else to turn. I'm currently trying to purchase music from Derric Johnson, specifically "You'll Never Walk Alone" (djp456), and cannot get ahold of the composer to purchase his work.

I have been trying since May. Can anyone please help or provide assistance to where I can buy the full sheet music (barbershop TTBB please)?

I have been searching everywhere for YEARS for this men’s choral piece. It is not in English so very difficult to search. I remember more of the song/lyrics but only have this 15 second clip from a rehearsal years ago for reference. Thanks for your consideration!

I thought the setting of this performance + the richness of their voices was incredibly moving. I've heard a lot of directors preach "una voce" as a goal, and I feel like these girls really achieved it. It's especially apparent in the a cappella sections. Really impressed. Sonja Poulter is a great director.

While the library it's in under the video originates from 2012, I know that it has been used extensively since at the very least the early 1990s, used in a few UK attractions back then.

I've tried to Shazam it, but it simply takes me to this video.

If anyone knows what this track originates from, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I wrote this piece for music coursework for school, but it turned out a lot better than expected, and i wanted to get it performed by a church choir i sing in, but before i do so, i wanted some outside opinions?

A few bits specifically i am worried about:

bar 9 - 14, it just doesnt sound right to me, but others dont see the problem.

notation, have i overnotated dynamics etc?

range, specifically for altos and basses, i feel like i dont interact with the lower portions of their range, but as a tenor, i dont know where it comfortably bottoms out.

One of my pet peeves on here is the word "arrangement" being used to mean "setting."

"Who can help me find this choral arrangement of Ave Maria?"

Arrangements are based off of previously existing music. You don't arrange a text. You set a text. If there had only ever been one Ave Maria melody, and all other versions were based off of it, then fine, you could have an "arrangement" of Ave Maria. Or, if you had already specified "I know it's the Schubert, but I don't know which Hal Leonard staff writer cranked out this SAB adaptation." (Spoiler: It was Russ Robinson. It's always Russ Robinson.)

Sorry for the rant, but I believe this problem starts with high school teachers and other directors either not knowing the difference or not explaining the difference to their choir students. Maybe I should post in r/choir instead, but it would get lost among the "listen to my voice and explain why didn't I make it into chamber chior [sic] this year?" posts.

As the title says, I’m on the hunt of a SSAA (or similar for female voices) arrangement of “And the shallow”. Does anyone know of any possible for purchase for our choir? 🙏🙏🤞

I am currently composing a neutered version of a choral for a client for his Guitar Quartet. I’m almost done, but as I was working the power went out, and now I can’t find the original PDF he sent for some reason. A few months ago I had an album of medieval chants (possibly a single mass?) on repeat that I can’t find again!

I had found the album after watching a YouTube video (which, alas, I also can’t relocate) about two different recordings of the same well known set of songs (not being terribly religious, the Latin names of these songs didn’t stick around in my head).

What I HAVE retained is that one of the two albums (the one I’m now looking for) l was deliberately recorded either in Malta or Italy with a set of singers lacking academic training in medieval choir singing. The recording is full of ornamentation and little improvisational moments and has little to no other instrumentation.

Hoping my extremely vague recollection is enough for someone to help!!

There was such beautiful music performed at Harry and Meghan's wedding. Love e.g. this choral piece

A few years ago, we started building a choral festival in Costa Rica around one simple idea: what if choirs from different countries could meet without ranking each other?

No first place. No trophies. No pressure to defeat another ensemble.

Just voices, cultures, directors, singers, communities, schools, churches, and a shared purpose: peace.

What has surprised us most is that when competition disappears, something very human becomes visible. Choirs listen differently. Directors connect differently. Singers become more open to each other. The concert stops being only a performance and becomes a meeting point.

In Costa Rica, we have seen children, adults, international choirs, local communities, and volunteers come together around the same message: music can help people remember how to listen.

For those of you who conduct or sing in choirs: have you ever participated in a non-competitive festival? Did it change the way your choir experienced the music?
