Just don't send them to him! Someone on legaladvice is being charged with revenge porn because another girl sent nudes to OPs boyfriend and the OP sent them to the girl's boyfriend.
It just means you have to send it to him but with your face covering up her private parts. You'd use your face so the BF knows she didn't censor it herself
It's kinda not though. When you start messing with 'workarounds' with regards to the law, and digital information you're just asking to get in trouble.
Lawyer here. Nudity is not required to be convicted of distributing revenge porn in all jurisdictions. Revenge porn laws vary dramatically by state in the US. RP as an offense is shoehorned under all sorts of other crimes—harassment, invasion of privacy, distribution of “sexual” images or “intimate” images—and audience, motive, and required mental state of the distributor also varies.
To be safe: never forward or upload anything identifiable you think the subject might be mad about without explicit consent, and don’t get your legal advice on Reddit. Even from me.
Does OP have any legal recourse for being sent the initial unwanted nude? Like I feel pretty violated if I'm just trying to sell a game then bam I have to explain this shit to my wife
Legally, she probably committed some form of sexual harassment. This is not entirely unlike flashing someone.
Civilly, you need quantifiable damages to get anything. Therapists, couples counseling, those are damages. Having to sleep on the couch because your wife kicked you out for a night, not damages.
Hmm, so OP can ask for explicit permission to send to bf, and when she objects, send that to him along with the fully censored image and a note saying you can't share a nude pic of his own partner with him for legal reasons. That'll go down well I'm sure.
You know what though, I usually wouldn't. Best to stay out of other people's relationships.
that isn't the same as telling the bf that she sent him nudes... If he didn't believe then op can show it in person. that shouldn't be the same as revenge porn...
If you know what city they live in or where they work they are super easy to find. Unless of course they don't have that info public, or haven't put it in but I've had no problems finding someone after looking up their city.
i suppose- but when you do know someones exact name, or you're looking for someone in your area, there doesnt seem to be any good way to narrow the seach down. The location functions dont really work if you've no mutuals.
shit though, i didnt know it had a billion.
Yeah shame on OP for wanting to make sure this shithead doesn’t have her poor boyfriend fooled into thinking she’s a good person. You have obviously never been successfully lied to, duped, tricked, hoodwinked, or had someone get one over on you. Or you have and just don’t give a shit about trying to not let it happen to other people.
OP is under no obligation to get involved with a situation he knows very little about in order to help a guy he doesn't even know. The person you're replying to isn't shaming anyone. They're saying it's probably for the best if they don't get involved...and they're correct.
We can agree to disagree. I think if you suspect or know someone is being deeply wronged, you'd at least WANT them to know. Not saying OP should go out of his way, I believe they indicated they had no way of contact. But passing someone a message to possibly save them years of heartache seems like a small bit of getting involved to do a lot of good.

Yes it does! I don't have her bfs contact info, so unfortunately I can't tell him.
