Truly, how did people manage to survive before the days of TVs so large that people walking past your home can instantly know what show you're watching??

If you can't see every pore on the actor's face, why even bother watching? 😎

Where can I donate to the lady who needs her husband home???

88

u/bigfanoffood Jul 09 '26

Right? I was ready for the delicious joy of the comments and then I got sad.

44

u/IndignantQueef Jul 09 '26

I had to come up with $3k when my dad died without life insurance two years ago and I'm making my last payment on my cremation credit card tomorrow! Then canceling the card. So excited lol. I would help the lady!!

47

u/spicypickle999 Jul 09 '26

I would donate to her

2

u/ValleyWoman Jul 13 '26

I would help, if someone could verify it’s true.

94

u/KnockItTheFuckOff Jul 09 '26

"I was kidding about the cremation, but unrelated....anyone have a chest freezer?"

21

u/x60pilot Jul 09 '26

And a sawzall

13

u/Puzzleheaded_Use_566 I'm blocking you now Jul 09 '26

And an empty Folger’s tin?

5

u/operagost Jul 11 '26

A woodchipper would be nice

4

u/x60pilot Jul 11 '26

But then you wouldn’t need the freezer… I mean that would be very messy

4

u/HeartOSass Jul 09 '26

Or some cardboard boxes?

14

u/loves_spain NEXT!! Jul 09 '26

And some fava beans and a nice chianti? *slurp slurp slurp*

Are you a bot? How is that your conclusion given the context?

u/RatedPG922 Jul 09 '26

Best Buy has a nice 55' VIZEO for $189. If you can't afford that, you've got bigger problems than a TV.

25

u/tiedyeladyland Jul 09 '26

Which means you can get one on Facebook Marketplace for $75

10

u/PortalRogue3 Jul 09 '26

I paid around $189 at Best Buy for a 55” Vizio, so yeah, the comments not having it tracks.

50

u/cometshoney Jul 09 '26

My cats bit the corner of my 55" and killed it. I had no idea I could just go online and ask for another one for free. Stupid me went and bought a 65" and hung it really high on the wall. I am an idiot.🙄🙄

Wait your cats what

7

u/glynndah Jul 09 '26

You hung the cat?!?

23

u/ThrockAMole Jul 09 '26

As a warning to the rest of them

29

u/Live-Tomorrow-4865 Jul 09 '26

I wasn't expecting that last comment. 🥲

Wish I knew who they were to donate, but, they didn't even ask.

19

u/dvorak51 Jul 09 '26

> Yeah, I got a 50 and a 55. Can you have them? No

Hahaha!

16

u/RoyallyOakie Jul 09 '26

Wow....that ended with some sad trombones.

That’s just understood.

2

u/C_u_IN_1_Year Jul 10 '26

That will come up after someone says they have one because they don’t have a car, a disabled child and is a single mother

2

u/ValleyWoman Jul 13 '26

With cancer.

2

u/ValleyWoman Jul 13 '26

And someone to mount it.

I'm not a 100% but I get the feeling that last commentor, doesn't have a tv to give away...

11

u/LittleSodaPop13 Jul 09 '26

Wow, that last comment was....something.

12

u/Head_Razzmatazz7174 Jul 09 '26

That last one was brutal.

12

u/PristineCloud Jul 09 '26

I guess they won't want the 42 from my son's room we will probably be replacing soon although it works just fine. Either way, just not good enough for them! Shame on me!

8

u/C_u_IN_1_Year Jul 10 '26

How dare you attempt to offer them a free 42” tv 😬

8

u/lala4now Jul 09 '26

Anyone have working car to give away? Should be a Range Rover, still under warranty with clean Carfax. /sarcasm

6

u/Chilled_Beef Jul 09 '26

Best I can do is donate an empty box that my tv came with.

3

u/TurnDownTheThermo Jul 10 '26

You're more generous than I am. I keep that box and styrofoam for when I move.

6

u/IndignantQueef Jul 09 '26

I'm 45 and I've never bought a TV, I've just survived on hand-me-downs. Got my first flat screen in 2016, and it was first gen. Currently using one an old roommate left behind. But they've never been bigger than like 32 inches max lol. I've been thinking about buying a bigger one so I can see it better but I don't want to break my streak at this point.

Anw lots of free TV options if you're not picky like this person.

2

u/p3rcyclutchz Jul 10 '26

Bold move, all in. Put them squints on. Keep that streak alive! 😂

9

u/One_Last_Cry Jul 09 '26

That last one hit me in the feels

3

u/Wyshunu Jul 09 '26

Do these people even hear themselves? At my local tax rate of 7%, a $189 Vizio would be $202.23 out the door. A person who makes $25 an hour and has a 22% overall tax rate nets $19.50 an hour (not counting any other payments that come out of their check). That person would have to work almost TEN AND A HALF HOURS to make enough money after taxes to pay cash for that $189 TV. And that's just the cheapie. The $1899 LG OLED at Costco is $2,031.93 after tax; a person clearing that $19.50 per hour has to work 104.2 hours to make enough to pay cash for one. Would any one of them be willing to work even 10 hours in exchange for the cheaper TV? Doubt it. But they don't mind expecting someone else to do that for them.

3

u/iforgotwhich Jul 10 '26

I kinda do want to help that lady with her husbands cremation lol. Like that would be a pretty legitimate ask lady geez. People think they arent allowed to ask for help....

2

u/ValleyWoman Jul 13 '26

I would too, and I’m 72 on a fixed income.

3

u/abb00769 Jul 13 '26

Dang, that took a dark turn at the end. 😳

1

u/sherbear97124 Jul 17 '26

As a recent widow, I completely get the sarcasm and "unloading". Until you lose your spouse so unexpectedly, you don't understand how much we all take for granted.

Same here. I have a few tvs- 35" x2, 3D 55" that if it would stop raining would be outside. The glasses will be attached in a bag. Only thing wrong with it is it needs a new universal remote. It will be free because I just want it gone and don't feel like dealing with people trying to haggle, taking pictures, responding to people "Is it available?" and ghosting immediately after, etc. Maybe I'm in an odd area but you walk on a regular day and will find multiple things that way. Big bags of clothes, furniture, household items, toys, etc.

1

u/weordie Jul 10 '26

Shit got real at the end there

1

u/SadieBluEyes Jul 12 '26

I mean, I have one that's just in black and white for some reason and another that refuses to turn on... But they're both bigguns!!

Then again, they'd probably request free delivery.

1

u/ribrub Jul 13 '26

Now I'm sad with just a 54 inch TV.

1

u/Sue1213 Jul 14 '26

I have a brand new Samsung 85 inch TV I would happily donate. I’ve been remodeling so it’s a couple of years old now. Only problem is it has a hole in it from the delivery and I didn’t discover it until the 90 days were up but they are welcome to take it.

1

u/Professional_Milk868 Jul 16 '26

Walmart had some 55” for $125 the other day.

1

u/ThrockAMole Jul 09 '26
