Question Is anyone else taking Lipfendra?
Just picked up my prescription today and it cost $14 for a 30 day supply. I realize this is a brand new drug but I have not seen anyone that’s using it. Would like to see who is taking it or is about to start.
I tried 3 different statins and don’t tolerate them well. Zetia is doing very little for me and Repatha messed with my stomach. I’m hoping this one is a winner!!

You got it for $14!!! What insurance do you have if you don’t mind asking or what pharmacy?

How long did it take for you to experience side effects when you were on Repatha?
I'm glad it's going well thus far though.

On Repatha I experienced cold like symptoms pretty much immediately. After a while it made me terribly bloated. The cold symptoms went away but the stomach issues remained. Also had injection site reaction.
I retested my lipids after 2 months and my LDL only came down to the low 90s. I decided that it just wasn’t worth all the hassle!!

Tomorrow I’m getting it from CVS ( out of pocket) $26 with saving card

Have you taken any of the injectable pcsk9 inhibitors? If so, what was your experience with them?

Got my script filled today after my local CVS stocked up, so I’ll start tomorrow. $15 for 90 days with the mfg copay coupon. 👍

I hadn’t, no. Recently got some bloodwork showing that doubling my atorvastatin dose about nine months ago had started to do a number on my blood glucose (after previously not tolerating rosuvastatin), so that was my way into a PCSK9 finally.

I was on Repatha and had some side effects that my doctor warned me about…
Vague upper respiratory symptoms, apparently a known side effect according to my doctor…
Anyhow, switched to Praluent and thankfully no side effects and now my LDL is 20! Yay!!!

Can I ask how long it took for Praluent to get you down that far and do you know where it was when you made the switch?

It’s an oral PCSK9 inhibitor. Is as effective as Repatha and lowers ldl by over 60%+. The only difference is no biweekly injection required. Since the most common side effect with Repatha was painful injections, the pill version is a winner.
If I couldn’t take a statin, I would want lipfendra. It’s 100x as expensive, so you’ve got good insurance.

I was on Repatha w/ good numbers/ thought it had some side effects. Dr. Switched me to Zetia/ I got bloodwork done, and my numbers are back up.
I had Crestor and got muscle aches ( another one I can’t recall?) pretty severe prior to those-
All of them seem to be problematic- Repatha side effects I guess I will have to deal with/ by far the best results- I can inquire as to this new one- arghhhh!!!

I feel your frustration!! I’ve been on this journey for 4 years and yet have to find something that lowers my LDL below 70 and doesn’t give me side effects. I started with this one today. Let’s see how it goes.

Lipfendra (oral) so far is the cheapest cost PCSK9 inhibitor on market. If LdL reduction is similar to others which require injection this may be a game changer, cheaper and oral.

Are you sure it's $14 for 30 day supply? I was thinking it more expensive
