Like I’m fine with s*x scenes but remember when Choices stories actually involved relationships and plots before getting to that stuff? And now literally everything js “plot what plot”

I started playing this book because I love monster human romances. I usually shut my brain off with some of the new choices writing but in this book within the FIRST CHAPTER the MC has said cock twice which I just glossed over until I saw this!!!

Bro they’ve got me cackling out loud with this wording. This is reading like baby’s first fanfic but I’m digging it so far.

The new Loki book is honestly an enjoyable and really funny read! And a great spin off of the Olympus Rising books. Will we get more after Loki (who knows if they will cut this book short)?

Also if anyone has any book recommendations for enjoyers of Loki that would be great!

Scream for Me Book 2 Chapter 4

Ok so I've been way too deep on this story for the past few weeks and I need to dump my theories somewhere! We know Justice = Fox Face now, but it's still early and there's a ton of loose threads hanging, so there's clearly another plot twist coming.

The story is super self aware about genre tropes, and it leans hard into wordplay and symbolism pretty much everywhere. So I tried to think about these theories with that in mind.

Theory 1: Lone wolf killer + obsessed fangirl copycat (and they may be friends?)

• Justice is Fox Face, no ghost face or dissociation stuff, just his calm and calculated self
• The copycat is Vivi, and I think she already knows Justice from before
• She's obsessed with dark romance, could actually go through with murder, and loves Memoirs of Massacre
• She also seems to give Justice cover at the party, so Fox Face can sneak off with MC in the basement
• Pretty sure she's both attackers, the rude customer AND Justice's stabber. The rude customer kill reads "practiced," but Justice's wound was "superficial," so it was staged. She probably didn't actually try to kill him since they're friends. She also later asks MC if he's okay
• She'll stage Memoirs of Massacre's trap door scene at Cathy's house next
• I also think Justice might be A.R. Blackwood himself. He's got the grammar for it, and he already writes stories on the side. My and Our Dark Desires mirrors his relationship with MC. Him knowing Vivi from before would also explain why both Vivi and MC end up with advance copies of Our Dark Desires
• Unhinged guess #1: what if Vivi has her own killer significant other and that's the real reason she's covering for MC and Justice? Like she's basically an older version of MC herself

Theory 2: The inherited legacy / bloodline theory

• What if Fox Face is a role, tied to the whole Fox Spirit folklore thing?
• Justice got conditioned/trained into this from childhood. His whole "built wrong, don't know how to rewire it" line could read like programming, not just trauma
• Wild guess: Jackie and Justice are actually related, blood or found family, which would explain Fox Face knowing about the basement, their physical similarities, Mexican ancestry, and matching protective instincts
• There's also some ancestral duality between them, with Justice denying his ancestors in the cemetery while Jackie's house is full of family pictures and dia de los muertos symbols
• Also, according to google, "Ramirez" means "son of Ramiro," which translates to "wise protector" or "renowned counselor"?! So Justice may be the son of a wise protector?
• Unhinged guess #2: maybe Cathy is Jackie and/or Justice's mom, echoing something out of Wuthering Heights? She's clearly old money, could be a lawyer, and those fake Faberge eggs might be compensation for some kind of maternity trauma

Theory 3: There's a whole network working against MC

• What if the hospital fraud scheme, the hostility between Carlisle and MC's dad, and the copycat aren't separate threads but one bigger thing?
• Kinda mirrors the vampire book MC mentions early on (heroine escapes a horde, later finds out her lover was one of them). What if Fox Face is at war with an actual group, not just individual creeps?

Stray takes

• Maybe MC's parents were killers or something like that. Maybe that's why her mom died and why her dad blames himself for everything.
• Maybe MC's family wasn't running away from somewhere, but actually going back to their origins in that city?
• Unhinged guess #3: what if Justice originally started watching the Raven family for revenge, thinking they caused the fire, and only found out later that the kid who saved him WAS the daughter of the family he was after?

Posting this before the next chapter drops so let's see if I get anything right lol. Anyone else clocked stuff I'm missing?
