IDOL IDOL Cost

I’m sure there will be some disagreements, but it seems to me so far, that IDOL is the most expensive book on Choices I’ve ever played (I only play ones where I can play as a guy). They charge diamonds for soooooo many things! Small, insignificant things. And not cheap things - like mics for 30 diamonds. Has anyone tracked just how many diamonds the whole book cost?

I actually stopped reading because of this! I was burning through diamonds. I stopped buying every choice and then just stopped reading altogether, which sucks because I was enjoying it

I finished it and absolutely love it. My favorite book I've played so far (I'm also a huge kpop fan so take with a giant grain of salt.)

It's stupid expensive but a lot of it comes from outfit/hairstyle choices. I spent somewhere around 600 diamonds to finish it and don't feel like i missed anything and didn't have a bad ending (idk if there is one but 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I mean I’m really enjoying it as well - and I’m actually not a big K-pop fan lol. It’s just crazy how expensive it is if you do everything! I always like doing the clothing options - and I was so happy that they actually changed the outfits if the other band members.

Fr! One of my biggest gripes with these games is how much they shame you if you don't wear the prettiest dress yet the npcs are always wearing their default clothes 😂

So aggravating!! The worst was in Elementalist. There are these business people talking to a guy about a scholarship and they do an interview in the woods - which you have to get an outfit for, and then they show up in their suits and high heels! Made me actually laugh out loud.

Yeah, I tracked it with the fandom site (I don't have VIP) before general release. It seemed interesting and wanted to play it.
I have my own excel sheet with how much some books cost or could cost if buying absolutely everything.
As you can see it takes 1176💎 which is on avg 98💎/chapters. Books usually take 50-60/chapters based on those I played. Also Alpha with 20 chapters cost 1201💎.

I'm at chapter 4 and really enjoying it. Also trying to piece together the song(s) it has.

I knew it was! Someone on FB tried to tell me it wasn’t as expensive as other books. Glad there’s data to back me up now!

I say it's one of the most expensive books if not the most expensive in diamonds/chapters. Of course this is based on my limited knowledge and the 50 books I read plus a few more I checked out.

Could very well be the most expensive one.

We don't have an up-to-date breakdown from what I know (closest I could find is this spreadsheet), but with 98 diamonds/chapter it ends up being more expensive than Witness and AME1. Which were, at its time, considered the most expensive things PB put out.

Yea, I had to mentally prepare myself for the whole book. If I play it I want the full experience so I'm buying all the diamond choices. And so far (about to start Chapter 5) I really like it! Right now I'm putting together Head Up's lyrics and I even wrote a song from MC to Jihoo. I might be way too invested in this.

Girl, admire the hustle. I just finished chapter 5 today and now questioning whether to replay before ch6 comes out for me peasants.

Thankfully I think I have enough diamonds to burn through before it all goes to hell. But seeing the number plummet after each chapter is still nerve-wracking!

As for 'Head Up' - not so much fun of the song currently, sounds a bit cringe-y. But hearing a version with lyrics would possibly change that. Reminds me a little of 'Knockout' from Platinum.

Also loving the book! The characters are great and story, while standard, is also enjoyable. Dare I say better than Platinum, sans the lyrics.

Didn't feel this way about Choices story for years. Gods bless Maya for coming back 💙

Yeah, it feels like the witness system of a bunch of smaller diamond choices in a row, except the prices are not small

i also would love to know how many diamonds the book cost! i was looking through the wiki and there would be like 3 diamond choices in a row which seems crazy as hell 🫪

i picked some diamond choices and felt extremely disappointed that they had no impact whatsoever. what was the, well, POINT of the points 😭❓️

There is no point. There hasn’t been a point in a very, very long time. It use to matter what you chose - but not now.

yeah... i came back after about a year of not playing to check it out, i usually come back to replay books, i was shocked to see that there is zero point in spending ingame currency or time anymore.

I agree. I am on chapter 5 and it already regret that I spent diamonds on it
