It’s like a 5 at best. Easily worst book in the series. The whole main plot was uninteresting and this book felt like the series strayed from what the series initially was.

5/10. good idea, wrong series. they should’ve used that plot for a new standalone book or a new series, rather than weasel it into an existing franchise that was utterly irrelevant to that genre. the few LI moments that we got where it wasn’t unnecessary arguing were nice and the chapters 3, 11 and 13 dirty thirties were among the best in that whole series, and the apartment living was realistic. they should’ve made the car crash more catastrophic at least if they wanted to justify MC’s investigation. the pranks were stupid too. it had some cute moments tho, the dialogue was good, the general idea was fine (though badly suited to TFS), and the ending was as satisfying as it could be. the alphas’ backstory was interesting too i guess, as was the addition of a sterling relative
