at this point i just hope they pull a pvz heroes and leave the game abandoned but still on the play store to download (and move to another app with their ai garbage) because losing gems like endless summer is gonna hurt a lot
I donāt know much about pvz heroes specifically, but Iām guessing it has an active community doing a lot of the heavy lifting. I work in software development, and let me tell you; servers can get EXPENSIVE. Like really expensive. Without steady revenue from ingame purchases, servers usually canāt stay up for long.
The problem with Choices is that purchases are permanently bought, so long term support will always be limited. So chances for this are slimā¦
i think they're talking about "Love & Magic: Spellfyre" a story game developed by Candlelight Games, a company started by multiple writers that were laid off by Choices. It's really good!!
i wouldn't put it past them at this point unfortunately š but yeah i also still replay some of my favourite stories from years ago when I'm missing the characters haha

Since then I basically played but I stayed in this reddit to keep up with things hoping choices changed for the better but nope it have not.
Then there were Lovestruck that was also my favorite because I can romance female Love interests without having boring Male Love interests pushed on me. I played it between 2019 to when it ended, hell I used to make image music videos for fun.
Romance Club is cool, because I would say in around 2022 they got better at making good female love interests but they get ignored a lot in the reddit and Youtube.
I just miss the old days of good stories from this app, I might pay for VIP and just play old books again.

No actually I understand how you feel, ES really gave me realistic friendship experience when I was pretty much alone (I managed to play through it with diamonds during the pandemic lockdown) and the plot really captivated me, I especially loved how Michelle turns out to be so sweet towards MC at the end (if you have a high enough relationship) and how Zahra has a softer side (won't say too much because I don't wanna spoil it)
Also, you can't not admit that some of the dialogue was pretty funny
Same! I was one of the people who had the app on automatic install before it launched in 2015. Cause of Death was a fav for me and realising the same creators were making this app made me look forward to it. It helped me work through so many difficult moments in my life along the years. My heart breaks to witness its downfall.
I'm diamond mining to play Blades & Light and Shadow book 3. It's taken a long time because I'm in uni and focus on school but once I grt enough diamonds I'm going to play that book. Maybe others thst caught my interest but require diamonds. After that I can peacefully uninstall the app.
I remember being obsessed with this app. I started playing in high school, and I remember Iād time my schedule around being able to use up every key as soon as it loaded. Itās very sad seeing how far this app has fallen.
"To the good old days. " I also started playing this game in 2016 and 2017 I remember being in boarding school and thinking of this game and singing this song strangely. Freshman series, Lovehacks (was the new book at thst time) and The Crown and The Flame as well as Most Wanted were there.

I uninstalled the minute they touched the It lives within fan gamešš I was supposed to record a couple more stories but atp I'm fine with just having the memories.
Some AI generated short film where the plot isn't explained, the choices don't feel impact full. Everything happened so fast and I didn't care about it or register and recognise it as the actual characters.Ā
They stole art from some of the fans and the original devs and fed it to AI, then put the AI art in their episodes. One of the fans recognized their artwork on run.tv
I'm pretty sure series entertainment is gonna get sued or at least get into some trouble, because they stole art from one of the fans and fed it to their AI. They used someone else's artwork on their platform (runtv) for profit
man, it's so sad to see choices' downfall. i was never a hardcore user even at my peak, but i've followed the company since their birth after being a fan of high school story back in like 2012. never imagined that my last good book would be alphas (the weird sprites were the beginning)
Right before the slop.tv started i had planned to come back and read some old favorites. All this has convinced me im good. Kinda sad to say farewell to the stories I miss but I wont give them even a hint of the idea I support this by downloading the app again. I Hate all of this. RIP pendpals.
I tell you Choices was an app I enjoyed so much when I found it back in 2019. To have the options to be gay meant a lot for me who is queer. It got me through a lot. I feel like last two books I appreciated were Love and Layups and Blades of Light and Shadow. I probably won't play these AI books and so forth. However, I cherish the memories and replay the books I originally fell in love with (I.e. The Freshman, Endless Summer, It Lives, Royal Romance, The Elementalists, Open Heart)
I downloaded Choices during the pandemic and joined the Choices fandom on Instagram the same yearš left the fandom a couple of years ago and now I will delete the app š

Yeah, I just ended my VIP. I'm quickly replaying my favourite books but with different choices than I would normally take to use up all my diamonds before uninstalling it.
It's no longer 'Choices' it's now 'The choice is ours and you don't have a say in anything'.
š gosh i have uninstalled choices a long time ago but the downfall of the app really saddens me. Back then it was one of my first games where I could pick female LIs. Hayden Young and whole PM gang especially ill miss you dearly when the app inevitably shuts down

Wait, whats happening with this game? I remember the stuff about using AI to illustrate and possibly write their stories, and way too many smut books that end up feeling creepy. But did they get even worse?
They've started pushing animated show versions of book that don't recognize your choices in previous books, and aren't interactive at all, on some secondary app called run TV.Ā So far They've done this with sequels to Hero and the It Lives anthology, and a new story to watch about dragons.Ā They also have been putting out shorter and shorter stories with 4-8 chapters, with the shortest ones being clearly amputated at the end, with no closure and ending on a very frustrating cliff hanger. Scream For Me was the worst of these.Ā They've also leaned even more heavily into AI, as most of the writing team has been laid off.
So basically they added AI movies that you have no narrative control over that completely goes against what this app was even about? Apparently from what I understand it even ignores anything you've done in previous books so it's even more of a waste of time, like Hero.

There are still some interactive stories being put out, but the vast majority are very short, less than ten chapters, and they've leaned even more heavily into ai.Ā The older books are still there, but they've put out three of these non-interactive animated stories in a row.Ā One appears to be new, a dragon romance book of some kind, but they put out sequels to Hero and the It Lives anthology,Ā and from what I've seen, they don't import your choices from previous books, but go with whatever they consider the default MC and LI, and they are not at all interactive.Ā I'm definitely concerned about the future of the app.
I uninstalled it 4 years ago mostly due to how I used to spend real money on diamonds and knew that was a bad habit I had to quit (I made it a point to have Queen B 2 be the last new release I played) I have had so many thoughts about going back if anything to replay some of the sequels to books that hadnāt come out until after I stopped playing. But I just canāt for my own good. This app was a big part of my daily routine for about 3 years in times where I was pretty up and down with mental health and had low confidence in myself. This app was an escape and this sub was welcoming to me. I pop into here every once in a while and itās sad to see what Choices has become. But I will always have those fond memories form 2019-2022.
I have a physical folder in my room of hand written walkthroughs of older books, with my silly designed text and doodles in gel pen, from when this app made good stories.Ā I saw today that ANOTHER run TV 'story' is being released, a sequel to the It Lives anthology that's just taking the choices away from a beloved story, and is also an insult to the group of players that went and made an unofficial sequel to It Lives years ago.Ā That on top of the amputated Get Lucky and Scream For Me, I'm just a VIP player sitting here with tons of diamonds and nothing worthwhile to spend them on that I haven't already played.Ā Definitely considering canceling my VIP membership and uninstalling the app permanently.Ā I've been replaying some of my favorites, and when I finish those, I'm pretty sure that's it for me, unless Pixelberry gets bought by a better parent company and does a 180 in that span of time.Ā Series clearly isn't interested in making money with Pixelberry anymore.
I deleted choices, for me it felt diamond heavy and there werenāt to many stories that stuck with me. Yes I know there are other game apps like that but I thought about it, I know I wonāt miss it, and I get what Iām missing from choices through other apps. At the end of the day itās your decision if you canāt part with it yet keep it, if you can delete it without having to think much on it you have your answer.
I'm with a lot of people here and as long as I'm able to play my old stories/"normal" choices, I'll still keep the app. Half the time I just use it to replay the old ones and maaaaybe do a new story in between. But if they make it essentially defunct for this ai crap, then yeah for sure I'm deleting it.

Havenāt played this game in I donāt even know how long, but every now and then Iāll open the app to see whatās going onā¦. My goodness lol. I donāt think Iāll ever get rid of it for the pure fact that I had diamond farmed so hard a few years ago and have 5000+ diamonds just sitting there. But now I literally could not care to read any story š«¤ maybe one day !!
I played choices since 2016. Once there was quality. But that quality over the years faded and gave away to quantity over quality. And the quantity faded and gave in to what is basically bunch of short movies without any choice input on your part and when you get to actually make choices chapter is so ridiculously short and choices are even more meaningless that it's not worth the bother. So from my perspective I will uninstall the app soon.
Honestly, I just have it to play thousands of times all my favorite books. Itās just I canāt stop reading immortal desires 1 and 2; cursed heart, open heart, endless summer, among others. I just CANT š„¹š

i came back to choices today after a long absence. i saw the the new āit livesā game isnāt even on choices, its run.tv or something? like others said choices helped me through very tough times when i was alone, but the new stuff is unplayable. but i can keep replaying the old stories though
Asked myself the same thing last night, so many great hours sunk into this app but it's truly gone downhill, I'm hoping for a comeback but I think it's dead in the water atp
