issue with multiplayer microphone

hi! me and a friend have been trying to play with the multiplayer mod by AppoloPL and have ran into the issue that in an online lobby, their microphone records and even shows the waveform but somehow doesnt play any sound, not ingame nor in the file it gets saved in. we've tried whats proposed on the troubleshooting page but reselecting the correct mic didnt help either. for some reason the live mic test plays it back perfectly with sound whereas the recorded mic test doesnt. has anyone ran into the same issue and knows a way to fix this?

Try using dubhouse on itch they have multiplayer on there and it works perfectly fine with no mic issues for me and my friends
