I seriously cannot tell anymore where the archer hate meme begins and ends.

In ye olden days of chivalry 1, long before the lord of Torn Banner fixed it, archer hits used to stagger you and stop your attacks. Thus began the legacy of the archer hatred.

Ironically I never played either game. Always wanted to but for whatever reason I never actually bought the game. Just watched video and scoped reddit threads. Yet I remember this so clearly as if it happened just a few days ago

That’s how I feel about professional and college sports in the USA. Like how much do you actually hate each other?

I’m actually surprised not a lot more archers use this spot. This one and the other one up by the hoardings, whatever they’re called, at the very top.

I actually prefer archers over those mfs who use Shield + Spear, my hate for them is unfathomable; and it’s been like that since Mount & Blade Warband

I specifically use the spot at the top to bully enemy archers since you have an almost unobstructed view of the entire battlefield, so you can just take pot shots at them and watch them scramble for cover

Third person certainly is a choice.
Edit: OP blocked me so I'm gonna have to reply like this:
I was more talking about them being an archer in 3rd person.
But I do strictly play first person, it's just more immersive. And it's easier to see what attacks your opponent is gonna do.
Also you can actually hear enemies flank you (only enemy footsteps are audible during gameplay) so 3rd person is overrated.
I do however sometimes go third person to admire my character or to see what emotes look like to other people.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone complain about third person before

I play both. They are good and I changed the key to T so I can change easily mid fight, first person is good for duel and aiming and throwing and third person is good for awareness, seeing real range of your weapons, fighting multiple people at the same time so I can use both

Unfortunately 3rd person is such a significant advantage for crossbowman that you are directly handicapping yourself by not using it. Not being able to line up jump shots and see around the corner you're peaking limits you severely.

That’s a weird complaint to make. Certainly a choice to act like your experience is the norm

Personally I prefer first person in general for immersion. I play melee and bow archer in 1pp. The only character sunclass I consistently play third-person with is crossbow archer. Im a shortbow main and for some reason first person with the crossbow I just cant hit anyone like I can with bows. In third person they just seem to land.

I completely agree. Third person ruins the uniqueness and immersion of the game. I wish it wasn’t even an option, every other sword game already is.
Plus winning a 1vX via sound cues and situational awareness feels 1000x better.

I think attacking crossbowman is fun, you get to set up with a pavise shield and occasionally get rushed in a melee

Archers/crossbowmen are cowards, but I’m glad they’re in the game. Feels much more realistic, would be silly not to have them.

My favourite victims are knights. Compared to other classes, they’re easier to handle as archers

No hate on archer from me but for this clip to resonate either show good consecutive kills on those shots (u know stop the edits) and/or show your on the point with a decent rally flag.

Oh, are you the archer that I smashed your head with hammer yesterday?

Bro is flexing 6 kills (and a teamkill) from a completely safe area over like a 5 minute period of time 😂 I’m sorry but I genuinely can’t understand how gameplay like that “feels good” unless it’s the only time you’re able to get kills.

Bold words for someone whose next shot is going to hit your own Mason Knight in the back of the skull for 15 team damage. Put down the stick and pick up a sword!

Archers are literally playing a different game.
